From church-sponsored fall retreats to arena football game halftime performances, newly signed Sony / Provident recording artist, Austin Adamec, is exploding the sonic boundaries of church and pop music. With his debut album slotted for release on August 19th and many communities already electrified by his passion, 26-year-old Adamec continues to melodize the issues of today with the all-surpassing assurance of God’s love.
Growing up in a family of singers and musicians, his father started him off in diaper school teaching him to play the drums. By third grade he was playing alongside Jordan Mohilowski, drummer for the Dove Award winning Christian band, The Afters. By 13, Adamec was skilled in guitar, piano, and of course singing, and became the Worship Leader of his church youth group. Just a year later, Adamec’s first live album was recorded with an audience of more than 2,500. In high school he became the Worship Leader for YouthQuake Live, a movement in North Florida reaching up to 5,000 teens a month.
Adamec left his home in Jacksonville to peruse a degree in Marketing at the University of Florida, but God’s plan for him there was bigger than any diploma. He joined Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU) and quickly became the one thing God has called him to be, a worship leader. During his leadership, he saw weekly attendance grow from 300 to nearly 1,000 students! He led and co-produced CRU @ UFs first live worship album, that included some of his original songs.
It was at UF that Adamec’s heart for unifying the body of Christ and breaking down denominational walls between churches and ministries, led him to co-found Unite NOW in 2008. Currently, Unite NOW has exploded into a semi-annual worship night where thousands of people come to praise the name of Jesus. His original song, “Release Your Glory,” is still a favorite every semester. His efforts also inspired others to start similar ministries around the country.
After graduating UF, real life hit hard as Adamec was faced with juggling a new full-time TV job and his deep conviction for music ministry. After multiple months of 4 to 5 hours of sleep each night and crazy stories of God’s faithfulness to finish what he started, Adamec was connected with Nashville producer, Barry Weeks, who helped write and produce his first 5-song EP entitled My Only Answer. After multiple radio stations started spinning the 2nd track called “Over All,” Adamec garnered the attention of a few record labels, which ultimately led him to signing his first record deal with Provident Music Group in the fall of 2012. His title track off the 10-song album, "My Only Answer," is currently the first radio single.
With a passion to reach people for Christ through music both on and off the stage, Austin Adamec has found God’s calling on his life and is actively pursuing it with no reservation.
