After months of teases and a weeklong countdown, Sanctus Real has announced what the next chapter of their career will look like. Following the departure of lead vocalist and founding member, Matt Hammitt, the band have announced that Dustin Lolli will be stepping in as the band's new lead vocalist. The band also debuted the music video for a new single titled "This is Love," presumably for an album to release later this year.
Dustin Lolli is no stranger to music, serving as vocalist for James and June as well as a worship leader for Orchard Grove Community Church.
New single "This is Love" received an immediate enthusiastic response from fans on social media, indicating that listeners are ready to take this next step of the journey with the band.
Sanctus Real shot to fame in the early 2000's for their unique and energetic approach to rock. But they also grew a substantial audience for a slew of hits on popular Christian radio charts. Known for songs such as "I'm Not Alright," "We Need Each Other," "Lead Me" and "Promises," Sanctus Real has been a staple at Christian radio for years. The band released a Best Of compilation in Fall 2015, complete with a final single with Hammitt's vocals, "Longer Than a Lifetime," as well as embarking on a goodbye tour for Hammitt.
