Today nominees for the 2018 Billboard Music Awards were announced, with Christian and Gospel genres well represented in their respective categories.
Up for the honor of Top Christian Artist is Elevation Worship, Hillsong UNITED, Hillsong Worship, MercyMe and Zach Williams. For Top Gospel Artist, contenders are Anthony Brown & group therAPy, Travis Greene, J.J. Hairston & Youthful Praise, Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Tamela Mann.
Moving into album-specific categories, the Top Christian Album nominees are Elevation Worship's There Is A Cloud, Hillsong UNITED's Wonder, Hillsong Worship's Let There Be Light, Alan Jackson's Precious Memories Collection and MercyMe's Lifer. In the running for the Top Gospel Album honors: Anthony Brown & group therAPy's A Long Way From Sunday, Travis Greene's Crossover: Live From Music City, J.J. Hairston & Youthful Praise's You Deserve It, Tasha Cobbs Leonard's Heart. Passion. Pursuit and Marvin Sapp's Close.
Moving over to songs, Elevation Worship's "O Come To The Altar," Hillsong Worship's "What A Beautiful Name," Lecrae ft. Tori Kelly's "I'll Find You, MercyMe's "Even If" and Zach Williams' "Old Church Choir." Rounding out the nominations for Top Gospel Song are Anthony Brown & group therAPy's "Trust In You," Travis Greene's "You Waited," J.J. Hairston & Youthful Praise's "You Deserve It," Tamela Mann's "Change Me" and Charlie Wilson's "I'm Blessed."
