I make records as almost live journals, recording thoughts and feelings and stories of where I am at the time. And during the recording of 'Blink' I was a new mother and pregnant with my second. I had learned very quickly how fast time flies. So in order to capture moments that I know will not only never come again, but that go by so quickly when they do...I made a record inspired by the 2 new men in my life, Solomon and Oliver Lee, who make every day a brand new and never seen again miracle. "Blink" encompasses the songs I sing and wrote for them in an to attempt to make the most out of our time together.

Great Album| Posted October 09, 2007
I think this is a great album. I have two small children so I feel the lyrics really speak to me. I feel myself in her shoes and know that no matter what God will take care of us always. That is so comforting to know.

I would say I'm surprised, except that she is consistent in excellence. Personally, I'm excited that this is a lullaby album. Sometimes I have trouble sleeping and want good music to sleep to. Plus, when I have kids, I don't want to play the typical music.
I'm surprised I haven't heard more of these songs on the radio. It's peace and beauty and destiny neatly packaged. I'll have a slice of that.
A Plumb in The Nursery| Posted October 08, 2007
Plumb (a.k.a Tiffany Arbuckle Lee) takes a break from the Rock/Dance arena to release a "Childrens Lullabye" Album. When I heard of this project I admit I cringed. Children's albums are notoriously awful when heard by an adult. Plumb has once again broken the mold. This is a lullabye album for adults. Blink presents 9 original songs plus a remix of Sleep from Chaotic Resolve. While as usual for a Plumb album there are no bad songs, at this early time my favorite is In My Arms, the "Rock" Lullabye, and My Sweet, My Lovely. The album is String heavy, which I admit I am a sucker for. Now that I have heard the Preview I am torn. It's not the rock album I expect from Plumb, I don't have kids, but suddenly I want this album. Coming from a former DJ is great praise. Don't blink or you might find this album Sold Out.
Sorry about the repeat, after I edited this review NRT dropped my user name from it
Blink and don't miss it!| Posted October 08, 2007
I've liked Plumb since their early years and their recent CD 'Blink' could become one of my all time favorites.
The melodic somewhat haunting tone we have come to love from Plumb is there and is awesome as usual. The poetic lyrics are deep in content and matched with the tone, this CD is quite moving and very meditative.
If you're looking for the person of Christ and the Word of God shared in a peaceful and beautiful music medium, then 'Blink' is the CD for you.
I need to go and sit in my quiet happy place now and listen to this BEAutiful CD again - SHALOM!
Beautiful and inspiring!!| Posted October 08, 2007
This album is probably going to be my absolute favorite!! The soft and magical melodies that evoke so much of what a mother feels for her children. So very precious!! God Bless Plumb!!!
This album has a way of connecting...| Posted October 06, 2007
I love the sound of this album! This is by far her greatest album thus far. Next to her songs like Cut and Damage that have reached countless people. There are so many songs that I love on this album that I couldn't just pick one or two. God has given her an amazing gift of connecting with ones heart through music. I may not have a child of my own, but the songs speak to me and the way I feel towards my sweet nephew. I just love this album and how it invokes the emotion that we have towards the sweet children that God has blessed us with in our lives!
Beautiful Lullaby Album--"Love It!" (corrected review)| Posted October 05, 2007
I've noticed that some of the reviews express disappointment in Plumb's newest album. Perhaps those who were disappointed did not realize that BLINK is a "lullaby" album, not a traditional (if one can use that word with Plumb) rock/pop offering.
However, in being a lullaby album, it is not "stereotypical," according to Plumb. In her own words, "[...]its lyrics are inspired by children...however the production is simply the mellow side of Plumb[....]for those who know my music, it's like a whole CD of songs like 'Phobic' or 'Go' or 'Willow Tree' or 'Cut' etc...very powerful and very sweet and very programmed...I love it. Love it!" --Plumb's 2/28/07 myspace.com blog
Personally, I think it's beautifully crafted, both musically and lyrically. True to her creative insight, Plumb has produced another poignant collection, this time centered around the theme of motherhood. The songs are relatable to a wider audience regardless of whether the listener is a parent or not. (And I am not.)
The covers of the two hymns on the album ("God Will Take Care of You" and "Children of the Heavenly Father") are gentle reminders of God's love for His children, in keeping with the album's theme. The latter hymn's use of strings is particularly beautiful.
As for the new songs, "In My Arms" is the one I listen to most; it's the song that captivated me before I heard the rest of the album and stimulated my interest in Plumb's inspirations concerning young motherhood. Visually powerful and movingly sung, the lyrics of this song are some of my favorite yet from Plumb:
"Storybooks full of fairy tales, of kings and queens and the bluest skies. My heart is torn just in knowing you'll someday see the truth from lies...
[Chorus]
When the clouds will rage, and storms will race in, but you will be safe in my arms. Rains will pour down, waves will crash around, but you will be safe in my arms.
[Bridge]
Castles they might crumble, dreams may not come true, but you are never all alone, 'cause I will always, always love you."
Another touching song is "Me." Plumb poetically mixes the dailyness of raising children with the joy of the future in lines such as "I wash your face to make room for all the kisses of tomorrow." She closes the song with "when you need to feel safe, when you need a kiss, oh, don't be afraid, 'cause what you'll have is me," a tender affirmation of a mother's self-sacrificing love, as well as another reflection of God's all-encompassing care. "Solomon's Song" is a final highlight, a soothingly melodic end to the album.
Overall, this is a rich collection of songs, sweetly carried by Plumb's expressive voice, peaceful melodies, and intimate lyrics. A must-have that portrays love through a mother's eyes and offers a deeper appreciation of the love that God expresses to His children.

7 songs for the price of 10!?!Not sure that's a deal| Posted October 05, 2007
I'll admit that I had high hopes for this CD. I've loved her other CDs, and they've always been so diverse, but this one sounds like every song I've ever skipped. To make this further depressing, there are only 10 songs on the whole album, and two of them are hymns ("God Will Take Care of You" and "Children of the Heavenly Father") which aren't treated vastly different from the treatment they would get straight from a hymn book. Of the remaining 8, one ("Sleep") debuted on Chaotic Resolve, I skipped this song then, but for this album it's one of the better. I'm not sure what's happened to Plumb. Plenty of other musicians have come into motherhood without losing ground, after all being a parent is supposed to be one of the greatest challenges and inspirations ever, but for some reason this CD just doesn't have it. I don't think I'll buy this CD. I think I already own it.
"My Sweet, My Lovely" has some clever lyrical imagery.
"In My Arms" catches some beauty and a lot of sentimentality. "Always" seems somewhat blah, never really offering any variety.
"Blink" finally conveys something memorable and touching, a mother's desire to remember every moment with her child, in a way that doesn't sound like all the other songs she has released.
"My Child" follows along the same theme as the previous adding some ambiguity to allow the song to be transposed from a mother's perspective to that of God, but isn't quite as successful in leaving a lasting impression.
"Me" would stand out beautifully if it had any variance in the backdrop to paint across, the lyrics demonstrate some originality, it's unfortunate that it has no contrast to back it.
"Sleep" I thought it was strange that she would release a song with the same name as a previously released track. Don't worry though you don't have to struggle to keep the two songs straight. They're the same song.
"Solomon's Song" was simple and sweet, but still added no depth. Meant for a mom and her baby, not much going on for the rest of us who listen in.
Plumb's Blink| Posted October 05, 2007
All of Plumb's albums are great...the group albums and even the albums she has done solo. The Blink album is more about her beautiful boys Solomon Fury and Oliver Canon so that is probably why the music is more mellow then on past albums. But in my opinion Plumb can never go wrong. I look forward to new albums coming out no matter what content the songs are about. Plumb is a god send.
