Am I A Soldier Of The Cross? is the debut single from English artist Francis Blight. Francis has drawn musical inspiration from singer-songwriter Nick Drake and early Coldplay to produce a haunting tune constructed from acoustic guitar and cello. The song’s lyrics come from an old hymn by Isaac Watts which expresses the struggle that Christians face in following Jesus on his narrow cross carrying path. The song was recorded in North London by Stuart McLean.
Am I A Soldier Of The Cross? is taken from Francis Blight's debut CD New Skin for Old Song out now on Amazon and iTunes.

Cross Rhythms Review by Tony Cummings| Posted October 10, 2011
A single from a London-based songsmith, "Am I A Soldier." features a deftly-played acoustic and a sonorous cello to bring tonal colour to a song that gets more haunting the more you play it. Strong imagery in the lyrics, too. Cross Rhythms rating 7/10
