A Great Greatest Hits For A Great Band| Posted August 10, 2007
The Newsboys is a great 90's band, not so much in the new millenium, but in the 90's, the ruled. "Breakfast" is one of the greatest songs of all time, and classic Newsboys. There's so many great songs on here, and they did a great job with the song selection. And there's new tracks, the best of which is "Joy". The song definitely shows the sound of the band in the new millenium. O, did I forget "Mega-Mix"? Great re-mix song that covers most of the songs on the album. It would have been great to see the re-mix album done with expanded mixes herd here, but this is a great addition to the album.
Overall, a great greatest hits album, for a great band. They did them well around this time, and even though they didn't have bonus DVD's, I would still recommend getting this. There's a new greatest hits collection coming out this fall, that'll have a DVD, but it won't have the quality of songs found here. They'll leave out some great songs, and they won't have my buy. But this is great.

A great collection of Newboys hits but I would recommend the Definitive Collection as it contains a broader range or tracks. This release would be good for a more concise collection of their top hits.
great album| Posted March 19, 2011
it seems like they come out with a best of album every few years so there's no need to buy this one anymore, but i still love all of the old hits.
Definitely a HIT| Posted July 08, 2010
You want to know why this album is called 'Shine...the Hits'? Because all the tracks on the record are HITS! If you want a taste of the newsboys more classic songs, this is for you! They put this together in 2000. It has a couple new songs and even one from their first album, Read All About It! From Shine to Mega-Mix, which is eight minutes long, you will be dancing the whole time!

Incredible album! I don't even know where to start. With great slow almost hymn-like music such as Where You Belong/Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus and Entertaining Angels to songs with more of a contemporary feel. All these songs are worth listening to over and over. The messages they contain are very useful from "you give me joy that's unspeakable and I like it" to "steppin' on up to the microphone I said 'hey man there's only One way'" to the mind-blowing song Who "and there's no use explaining what can't be contained. I'm not following a God I can lead around. I can't tame this deity and that's why Jesus is the final answer to who I want my God to be" Check out this album! It will be worth your while!

The Newsboys greatest hits album is simply fantastic! With the best of the best ranging from there debut album to 1998 and a few new releases. The album shows highlights of one of the most popular bands to ever sing Christian Contemporary. From there songs "Shine","I'm Not Ashamed" and "God is not a Secret to be Kept" that should energize Christians to take a stand and live and witness for God and to live our lives for Him,songs like "Who ?" and "Joy" that are about God's greatness and how He fills our lives with hope and joy.And so many other subjects that are covered through the songs included.
I highly recommend this album to all, it truly is an astonishing album.
Pretty Good| Posted February 08, 2009
Newsboys-Shine the Hits is actually better than I thought it would be. I'm not the biggest Newsboys fan, but I watched their concert on TV and I thought I'd give them another shot. I started listening to Shine the Hits and I was greeted with quite a surprise.
