Planetshakers Makes A Little Rumbling | Posted January 14, 2013
Planetshakers is a youth movement that has grown into somewhat of a phenomenon. Their target demographic is apparent very early in their latest (record live) record, Limitless. There's an undeniable infectious energy to most of the tracks that should be quite appealing to the younger crowd. This is definitely the kind of music that sounds pretty good played before arenas of young Christians joining in worship. And there's also a good mix of the faster and slower tracks to keep the variety on the record solid.

"Let Praise Awaken" and the title track ("Limitless") are great anthems in the early half of the album that have a good radio appeal and accessible sound that still keeps the lyrics meaningful: "You are faithful, and Youʼre able to do anything / So I trust You, never doubt You / Cause You hold it all / Every day of my life Iʼll praise You / Every moment Iʼll bless Your name / You have given me love unfailing." Another great phrase sings: "I'm saying goodbye to any limitation / I'm saying hello to the God of all creation."

"Great is Your Love"
takes a more reflective nature and offers a sonic balance to the faster tracks. There are more of these in the latter half of the album.

Musically, there's a lot of good stuff here. There's some good guitar work throughout the faster tracks and strategically placed strings help elevate other tracks. There are some good beats, rousing cheers, and soft moments of inspiration. There are soft verses and soaring choruses. Pretty much everything and a little bit of the kitchen sink are tossed into here but it never sounds too overloaded. Planetshakers seemed to actually follow the recipe for good worship music to the tee. The balance between all of the sounds is pulled off quite effectively.

There's really not much to complain about. You pretty much know going into Planetshakers what kind of music they produce, and for what they produce, it's a pretty exceptional result.

Closing Thoughts:
Planetshakers succeeds in making an accessible and appealing-to-youth album full of catchy songs glorifying Christ our Savior. The music's safe and catchy, and often musically rewarding. It's a pleasantly surprising musical offering.

Very nice album | Posted January 08, 2013
I have been waiting for this album and I must say I was not disappointed at all, with one exception. I wish they would not have re-did The Anthem.  I like the new version it is ok, but it lacks the power of the first one. Anytime I hear the first one I want to stand up and shout to Jesus. But outside of that I enjoyed the worship and could feel the presence of God through their worship. I enjoyed the Prase as well, the beats and rythms were excellent. This is a must have for sure.

Wow - this is great | Posted January 08, 2013
It's got a fresh sound, solid lyrics, points the listener to God and is annointed.

I'm a fan of the passion captured on the recording.  I can tell its a live CD in the true sense of the word.  We all know plenty of "live" CD's that feel as dead and stuffy as a studio recording.  Planetshakers have raised the bar!  It certainly changed the atmosphere when I listened to it.  It pointed me to God, uplifted and encouraged me.  I enjoyed the new version of "The Anthem" - I watched the full version at youtube.com/planetshakerstv.  Now its more than just a chorus, its a full song, with a verse and bridge.  No doubt my Church and many others will be singing this song along with others from this CD.

I give it 10 out of 10 - and I have not given a CD that for a while!

I can't wait to buy the CD!

Limitless | Posted January 08, 2013
I've known of Planetshakers for  a while now, but I never gave them a "real" listen until tonight, just a few snip-it's hear and there. I'm sorry it's taken so long. I haven't finished the entire album yet, and may not tonight. What I've heard so far though is really great. Perfect energy, really fun, and really empowering. Nice work Planetshakers!

Great Album | Posted January 08, 2013
I was surprised and impressed at the high energy of this energy of this album. The lyrics were very clear. The sound of the album is very pleasant to listen to. There are biblical messages woven throughout the album. I am very seriously considering talking to the worship arts director of our church and suggesting that he start using some of these songs in our church services.

Limitless Has Limited Staying Power | Posted January 08, 2013

Praise and Worship fans will be excited to know that Planetshakers' newest worship album will be hitting store shelves on January 15, 2013. Limitless features 13 tracks featuring live worship recorded at last year's Planetshakers Conference in Australia.

Most of the album is your typical Planetshakers P&W, opening with the  techno-drivin' "Let Praise Awaken." This is the style many PS fans are used to. After the opening tune, the album rolls into the remaining 12 tracks, most of which are medium to uptempo praise songs.

Overall, the album is pretty well produced, but Limitless carries limited creativity. I think this album will make PS fans happy, but those who like something new and creative will be disappointed. In fact, there are one or two tracks that listeners will swear they have heard the music track used in other PS material.

Worship pastors will likely jump all over songs like "The Anthem" and "This is the Day." "Anthem," which has been released before, has been re-cut and comes right out of the worship pastor handbook, utilizing the popular power ballad style that is so common in today's P&W music. Meanwhile, "This is the Day" is a driving, rocker that will get one's spiritual blood pumping. (Sadly, PS followed this song with the clunky "I'm Gonna Praise," ruining the flow of the album.)

The album's title track makes for a pretty cool, rocking track. You can check out it's video here:

Limitless gets a seven out of ten on my scale. Lack of anything really creative and memorable hurt it for me, but it is still a good album. Don't be surprised if you're singing one or two of these tracks in church, soon.
