Heart Of A Lion is my play on reppin my city & my faith. Simply put, to see God as the Lion of Judah and to be a man after God's own heart is what makes the foundation of Heart Of A Lion. This song represents my personal plea for those of us with influence to be bold and courageous in sharing our faith when and where it's called for most. The line "We on top of the game and they can no longer ignore us" speaks of my genre as a whole as we continue to climb album charts and now have the world's attention. A world that will undoubtedly ignore and hate us even more if we dare not "show what we say". The city that I have to show what I say is Detroit, home of my Lions. For the video God put it on my heart to reach out to those in the city who I knew were pursing the same thing and also to promote unity through diversity. In the scriptures believers are referenced to many types of animals from sheep to snakes(Matt 10:16). This shows me that there is a time to be a dove and there is a time to be a lion and even times to be both. In this case the call is for lions and when it is time for the lion in us to rise up trust me when I say it is extremely difficult for a lion to be who it was create to be and at the same time have a sense of false humility. The society that we're in now can see straight through those of us who are cowardly lions pretending to be courageous but are really afraid. Too afraid to be used to bring any real change. Know who you are, know what you're capable of and don't be afraid to let your surrounding environment know that you know. In layman's terms when it's called for, sometimes you just have to Roar!
