What Be Goin' Down / Hopes And Dreams (Video Mix)
Excellent!!!| Posted June 18, 2008
Now this is an excellent Grits album to pick up if you either don't really know who they are or if you just love the bloody heck out of their music.
On the Greatest Grits portion, essentially their best songs are on there, the infamous "Ooh Aah", the head bobbin "Hittin Curves" and so on.
The Second Serving is also exceptionally good.
My favorite tracks on this one are the infectious club song, "Bad 4 Me" in which the duo rap about fighting the temptations that creep up on them. While the other standout track on the slower side is the melodic "Not The Same" in which Bonafide compares his walk with Christ as a song, which is one of the coolest metaphors that I have heard. Along with the guest female vocals it makes it a very flavorful track.
All in all, a good collection of the new and the old.
Bring on the Grits!!
