Kendall Triplett finds hit making formula with debut album "Lose Myself" | Posted June 27, 2014

www.kendalltriplett.com

If early reviews are any indication, then it appears Kendall Triplett’s debut album, “Lose Myself” is a bona fide hit.  The first two singles shipped to radio, “You Can Do Anything,” and “’So I Will,” have already been in heavy rotation on popular internet programs including PUSH Radio and Power of Praize

The independent Fort Smith, Arkansas native’s LP was released earlier this year on iTunes and Amazon, and the buzz has been overwhelmingly positive for the gospel crooner with a smooth tenor reminiscent of more well-known titans in the genre including Israel Haughton and Fred Hammond.

“Lose Myself,” is contemporary gospel music at its best, but listeners will also hear strong pop and soul influences throughout the project.  “I strive to make music that both believers and non-believers can relate to and be inspired by,” states Triplett. “I don't just want tight beats and dope sounds. It’s very important to me that the message is strong and clear.”

The exuberant track, "You Can Do Anything," was written by talented songwriter, Delisha Thomas, who received a Grammy nomination for her contribution to Beyonce’s “Déjà vu” and also penned tracks for platinum recording artists including Janet Jackson, Justin Bieber, and Kierra “Kiki” Sheard. “So I Will,” is equally as infectious with its up-tempo beat and catchy hook. The song was produced by Ray Charles McCullough aka Ra Charm, and was written by Triplett, Brian Dior Thomas and Stellar and Marlin award winning producer Chip Dixson.

The title track “Lose Myself” with its military style cadence was penned by Mike Winans of the legendary Winans Family. The Grammy nominated songwriter and producer also tests his own vocal prowess on the power ballad, and does a stellar job trading verses with Triplett.

Without a doubt, the highlight of the album is Triplett’s soul stirring rendition of Colbert and Joyce Croft’s classic tune, “I Can’t Even Walk (Without You Holding My Hand),” which could easily fill the rafters with praise at even the most spirit filled worship service.

Triplett is a past winner of the "Unsung Singers" promotional award presented by Kirk Franklin and Fo Yo Soul Productions.
