Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas will be accompanied by an album that will bring your family into all the dancing, celebration, feasting, imagination, and traditions that glorify the true "reason for the season." The movie itself provides a Biblical basis for our celebrations, and the inspiration to stand strongly against a culture that wants to trivialize and eliminate the faith elements of this Holy season. So take in the splendor; take in the majesty; take in the story. Take it all in... and let's put Christ back in Christmas with this compilation of Christian music's biggest artists of today.

A Christ-centered Christmas Compilation| Posted December 01, 2014
There are a lot of choices when it comes to Christmas music. Each fall when the new Christmas compilations are released, it can be overwhelming or feel too early to listen to various takes on classic Christmas songs. This compilation stands out in that the songs are by several different artists, compiled as Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas motion picture soundtrack.
Every song is a highlight for me, especially the original Christmas songs by 1 Girl Nation, Building 429, Jason Crabb and Steven Curtis Chapman. There are also spectacular renditions of "O Holy Night" by Kerrie Roberts, "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" by Rhett Walker Band, "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" by Matt Maher, "Away in a Manger" by Casting Crowns and "Deck the Halls" by Tenth Avenue North. After a few listens, I've decided that there are a few special moments on the album that deserve particular attention.
The highlights of the album are found in the Christ-centered songs, the fun upbeat "Joy" by 1 Girl Nation, and "Deck the Halls" by Tenth Avenue North where they add the line "We celebrate the birth of Jesus tonight!" Casting Crowns delivers a reverent rendition of "Away in a Manger." Mark Hall's vocals are tender and reflective, putting me there at the birthplace of Jesus. Matt Maher's version of "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" is not to be missed. Kirk Cameron's daughter Isabella and his niece Kenzie Mae deliver a beautiful Christ-centered song "Father, My Father/Silent Night."
Many artists include "O Holy Night" on their Christmas albums as it is an amazing song of faith. The first verse floors me: "Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth." This is one of the most worshipful songs ever written, worthy of our King Jesus. This very reverent recording will have you hanging on every word that Kerrie Roberts tenderly sings. Her vocals will soothe your soul, and the vertical lyrics will all direct your attention to our King.
Other highlights include "Let Us Adore" by Jason Crabb. He also beautifully sings "Silent Night," adding "Crown Him King of Kings, crown Him Lord of Lords / glorious, God with us, now and forevermore / Christ the Savior is Born." Building 429's "Saving Christmas" is a wonderful original composition. The lyrics capture the essence of this blessed season: "Beyond the noise, behind the lights / past the chaos of December's not so silent nights / this time of year I find a thousand signs that lead me to the Child Divine. / I hold Him dear in this heart of mine / I'm saving Christmas in this heart of mine." Amen.
Closing Thoughts:
This is a truly fresh and catchy set of excellent Christmas songs. Vocally, these artists bring such passion and talent to these songs that I can't help but experience the true spirit of Christmas. I'll be listening to this very Christ-centered compilation of songs consistently this holiday season. Saving Christmas prepares my heart and mind to celebrate and revere the birth of my King.
