In a city long ago, there lived a young lad who was filled with dreams and aspirations of becoming rich, and famous. Ever since he was a young boy, he had always worked for his Father, caring for the land with the help of his older brother. One day, while chopping wood out in the field, the boy decided it was time he left his Father's home and went on to experience the pleasures of this world. He approached his Father about receiving his inheritance, which was supposed to be given to him after his Father died. Sad, and reluctant, his Father granted his request.
Not many days after that, the younger son gathered up all that he had and journeyed far away into a distant country. There he wasted his fortune on reckless behavior, and sinful living. When he had spent all that he had, a mighty famine came upon that country. He began to fall desperately behind, and found himself living in severe want, wishing he could be back home in the presence of his Family.
He went to the home of a citizen from that country, begging him to please give him a job. The man sent him into the fields to feed and care for the pigs. He was so tired of his life, he knew it was time for him to return Home.
