We live in an ever moving, posting, sharing & evolving culture where there’s no time to “Be still, and know that [He is] God [Psalm 46].” The new fashion trend, the latest song, the new movie being released, the next champion to be crowned & the hottest actor/actress all need to be publicized and there are only 24 hours in a day. Just staying on top of what’s current is a job in and of itself; our relationships remain shallow as we devote our attention to the latest trend. Technology connects us to the entire world and isolates us from our neighbor simultaneously. Often we move so fast that we “forget” to remain/abide in Him, and we wonder why we struggle…but a “branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine [John 15].” This ever moving lifestyle can distract us from our pain but also prevent us from walking through it into healing.
