A promise is only as good as the word of the man or woman offering it; for the almighty God (who lives outside of time) to lie is an impossibility so each promise from His lips has already been accomplished. After going through much heartbreak & trial, while struggling to trust God & his plans, J-Giles Son decided to spend time learning about what God has promised to all people &/or true Christ followers. This journey of discovery is far from over, but the product of this in depth study of what God has declared for His people has led to the 10th project from J-Giles Son entitled Promise Two. There is a direct connection between holding onto these truths and living a noble life; 2 Corinthians 7:1 says, “therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” Similarly, 2 Peter 1:4 states that “He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them (we) may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.” We can live from a beautiful place of secure identity within the promises of God. Looking to Him as a loving, engaged & perfect father who never has allowed a single word uttered to fall to the grown is a tall task, especially considering the fallen & challenging nature of this world & it’s inhabitants, but one of our greatest victories or ugliest failures will be centered around whether or not we believe God. Do we believe everything that He has said to us about Himself, or when He returns will we be convicted about our sinful unbelief (John 16:8-9)? As Jesus asked in Luke 18, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth? A better question might be will He find faith in your heart & mind. Blending dirty south and abstract beats, each track of Promise Two covers a particular promise of God in which every saint should be able to hold onto in faith.
