Matthew Parker is thinking about another "Adventure." To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Star Wars on May the Fourth (a.k.a. Star Wars Day), the Dream Records EDM powerhouse wrote and released a brand-new track sung from the point of Obi-Wan Kenobi, titled "Young Skywalker (May the Fourth Be With You)."
The song references a lot of well-known Star Wars tropes, including Vader's turn to the Dark Side, Luke's moisture farming days, and the uncomfortable interactions between Luke and Leia in the first film.
"I made this song because Star Wars is awesome and I thought it was a pity that this beautiful Fourth of May didn't have an anthem," Parker said. "Plus there were so many jokes that needed to be made. Too bad I didn't have room to fit in a joke about Storm Troopers' terrible aim. Maybe next time."
Parker holds the distinction of being the artist who has released the most produced, original song for Star Wars Day in the Christian music community, although contributions from Switchfoot, Fireflight and Ryan Stevenson were no bantha fodder.

This song is upbeat and a lot of fun for Star War's fans like myself (and apparently Matthew Parker as well)! The music is pop with a dash of electronic, and as always he's provided talented vocals. But the best part is probably the lyrics, which are creatively filled with inside jokes and references (seriously, if you haven't seen the original movie trilogy, WAIT to experience this). It's great at times to get to hear songs like this where you can tell the artist is having fun together with their fans.
