Hokus Pick: Russ Smith (vocals, guitar); Matt Pierrot (guitar); Dave Strilchuk (bass guitar); Rick Colhun (drums).Snappy, by Hokus Pick, is just that. It's snappy, peppy, fun, and a little crazy. The lyrics range from clever to cheesy, and this album definitely doesn't take itself too seriously. There's a nice bit of self-parodying at the end, which is worth hanging in for. The ska-influenced music is brassy and happy, albeit a bit repetitive. The two standout tracks are "I'm So Happy," a bit of pure danceable fluff, and "Comfort Song," a challenging and fun number.
