Sure, lead singer Mac Powell sounds remarkably like Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish, but Third Day has an edgy Southern folk rock sound that's all their own.
Their 12-song debut album includes the 9 tracks of their previous independent release plus 3 new tracks: "Nothing at All", "Thief" & "Praise Song".

This was the Grandaddy for Third Day. With songs like "Blackbird" "Nothing at All" and "Love Song" this album was destined to be the stepping stone for the greatest Christian Rock Band of all Time!! That said, the best song on here (And a few others down the road...) "Consuming Fire." Macs heart is on the table and you can hear the passion in his voice. If you are a more recent fan of 3D, do yourself a favor and pick this one up.

Love Song!| Posted August 12, 2008
Love Song may be one of the most amazing songs ever recorded. The words the picture it paints should bring a tear to every Christians eye when they realize the depth of Jesus's sacrifice!
Birth of a Great Band| Posted February 11, 2008
Third Day has been one of my favorite bands for as long as I have listened to Christian music. Their debut album was the beginning of something great. Now the record itself is very good. My personal favorite is "Praise Song". Other great tracks include: "Consuming Fire", "Thief", "Love Song", and the opener "Nothing At All". Fantastic album from an incredible band.
southern rock at its best| Posted October 26, 2007
Back in their southern rock roots, they were not my favorite band, but they did write Consuming Fire--one of the all-time great songs.
