"You're My Everything" is an album of original praise and worship songs designed for congregational use from the worship team at The Rock Church and World Outreach Center. Located in inner-city San Bernardino, CA, The Rock is an 18,000 member church made up of many different ages and cultures, and the diversity of their first full-length album reflects the diversity of the church.
There are several gospel-flavored tracks, from the gospel-funk of “I Know No Defeat” to the Latin-gospel of “Oh Lord, How Majestic Is Your Name” and the slow burn of “My King On The Cross.”
There are also Contemporary Christian songs, such as the rocking album-opener “The Lord Reigns” and the power ballad “Blessed Messiah.”
There second half of the album is worship-heavy and features the album’s more intimate moments. The sax in “I Praise” brings to mind Kenny G, and the stripped-down arrangement of “Apple Of My Eye” fits with the song’s lyrical theme of peace (“Be still my child”) and offers the album’s quietest moment.
There are also songs that defy categorization. “Hallelujah To The King” is a majestic ballad with harmonizing, Queen-like guitars, and “Everything That Has Breath” closes the album in genre-blending celebration (and has already received radio play).
Through “You’re My Everything”, you can experience worship at The Rock with its many styles, different cultures, and one heart.
