One of the Best Worship Albums of 2019 | Posted July 13, 2019
What You Need To Know:
Housefires originated at Grace Midtown Church in Atlanta, Georgia. The band has stayed true to their roots, often doing monthly worship nights at their church, and filming a majority of their music videos there. The band formed in 2014, but prior to that, their church released two worship albums under the name Grace Midtown, with Pat Barrett and others leading. Housefires was a part of the Outcry Tour in 2016, and continued their touring throughout 2017. Their most well-known song is "Good Good Father," which Chris Tomlin coverered and released on his album Never Lose Sight in 2016.

What it Sounds Like:
This is definitely a worship album. Housefires style is very similar to Bethel Music, with their spontaneous worship moments and powerful lyrics. With "Coming Home" being more of an anthem and "God Is So Good" having more of a softer worship sound, the band has come out with a very impressive album that will appeal to any worship lover.

Spiritual Highlights:
The bridge in "I'll Give Thanks" sings, "Why do I worry? / Why do I worry? / God knows what I need / He does," which seems to have come from the popular passage in scripture, Matthew 6:25-34. In that passage, Jesus proclaims in the sermon on the Mount not to worry about our lives. In Matthew 6:32b, Jesus says that God knows what we need, so we don't have to worry.

Best Song on the Record:
"God Is So Good" is the best song on the album. "God is so good," or "God You're so good," is a chorus that has mysterious origins, and is believed to be almost a century old. It's a beautiful song that tells of God's goodness to us.

For Fans Of:
Pat Barrett, Bethel Music, Hillsong Worship

Final Word:
Housefires has beautifully put together a worship album that could easily be called one of the best worship albums of 2019. None of the songs on this record are ones to skip! Since this is a live album, you can watch some of the songs being performed on Housefires' YouTube channel. They've brought a great album to the table, and I'm excited to see what else this band might come out with. This one is definitely worth a listen!
