My Paper Kingdom is the second studio album by edge rock band Eyeshine, released on July 14, 2009. Bassist Alex Orantes and lead guitarist Ji Ho Lee left the band during the recording process, leaving front man Johnny Yong Bosch to pick up the additional instrumentation. Before Alex left the group, he recorded and appeared in the single/music video, "Fighting" . Tori Dozier and Eddie Colmenares would join the band while touring for the record. The album had a darker and harder-rocking sound than the band's first album, "Red Stripes White Lights."
The album featured the award winning song, "Alone", producing accolades such as the Elfenworks Social Justice Award in 2009 and one of the Top 15 Most Played Indie Artist songs as rated by the International Association of Independent Recording Artists (IAIRA) in 2010.
Eyeshine released a remastered version of "My Paper Kingdom" in October 2013 that features a higher quality Master and tightened up drum recordings. They also recorded a new version of "Seeing Red" as it was the only song rushed to completion during the initial recording process. They decided to redo it completely, keeping the same lyrics and most of the chord progression.
