Mandisa has had quite a year so far and she's not slowing down. Her retail single "Only The World" topped the Billboard Chart for 5 weeks in a row and is currently still in the top 5 at AC radio. Her debut album, True Beauty debuted at #1 on the Christian chart and scanned over 30,000 units in just 3 weeks. Now, just in time for Christmas, Mandisa releases the Christmas Joy EP which features her powerhouse vocals on songs as "O Holy Night" as well as an original song written by duet partner, Matthew West. Mandisa will be all over television promoting the Christmas EP with appearances at the Crystal Cathedral Spectacular as well as Gospel Music Channel's Christmas program.

I bought this EP in 2007 and I sorta like it. It's pretty short and it just doesn't jump out me and say "WOW!" I love "What Christmas Means to Me" and "O Holy Night", but the others are a little "eh". This EP wasn't good enough to convince me to buy her full-length Christmas album "It's Christmas".
only an EP?...come on people!| Posted November 02, 2007
Positive: Mandisa's vocals really shine on her renditions of 4 Christmas songs. My favorite is the only original song ("Christmas Makes Me Cry"). This song has a beautiful melody and Matthew West's guest vocals add to it a lot. The other 3 are remakes of classic Christmas tunes, my favorite of them being "O Holy Night."
Negative: "CMMC" is the only track that actually sounds like it belongs in 2007. The others have a big band 1940s feel. They are pretty good, but I wish they could have been a little more updated. Also, I think Mandisa deserves a full album. A 4-song, barely 20-minute EP is just not enough! I think 'Disa could make killer versions of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and "Breath Of Heaven." Since "God Speaking" was included on the WOW Gospel Christmas compilation this year, and is also her 2nd single, she could have re-recorded it for this EP too.
