"Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness." --Desmond Tutu.
Hope Lives Here, the YouTube mini-series and record, has been 5 years in the making.
A complete God-inspired, labor of love, it represents a project we didn't know was possible for a small independent (at the time) band from Minnesota to pull off because of the magnitude and the cost of doing something like it.
Skepticism about the feasibility of the project was thick from the start -- it was scary. But allowing ourselves to follow the whisper of God, in time, the project became a reality and has proven to be our most inspirational project to date.
The project is an effort to take people to a place that most will never have chance to go -- Sierra Leone, Africa. Rife with perspective, Hope Lives Here, introduces viewers to the people of Sierra Leone and the mission work the band has been involved in for over a decade.
Through a partnership with Africa Uplifted the band has been involved in building clinics, rehabbing & building wells, expanding educational opportunities, installing solar power, expanding access to food for school -aged children, next academic level full-ride scholarships, latrines, spiritual development, and economic development. These actions are all grounded in the call the band has felt to be the hands and feet of Christ in a tangible way.
Like Switchfoot's Fading West project, much of the music from the new record serves as the soundtrack to the YouTube mini-series. Songs explore, but are now limited to, such topics as hope, faith, doubt, love, legacy, sacrifice, and resurrection.
More could be said about the mini-series and record, but we also believe great art pushes the viewer to interpret the work in their own way. Part of what has made this project so fulfilling for the band is that it has been less about providing answers and more about trying to ask good questions.

Hopes Lives Here - Hope Filled Rock Music| Posted June 25, 2021 What You Need To Know Boiling Point's newest record, Hope Lives Here, is a rock project that's accompanied by a YouTube mini-series inspired primarily by a trip to Sierra Leone, Africa.
What It Sounds Like Boiling Point utilizes modern rock as a vessel to communicate its message. Tight musicianship, evidently from years of live and studio experience, is found throughout the record. I like their guitar work, especially. The back-and-forth between captivating singing and soaring choruses helps build the momentum of the music.
Spiritual Highlights Hope Lives Here explores what hope looks and feels like in our lives, even when it is tough to see hope in the hardest times of life. Through times of sacrifice, doubt, and legacy, Boiling Point sings about the significance of hope. The band's definition of hope for the record is, "Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness."
Best Song "Hope Lives Here," the title track, is an excellent rock song. The verses explore situations in life that seem hopeless which is in contrast to the truthful and anthemic chorus: "Hope's not giving up on us/Embrace the journey and move on/you have one life to live now."
Bottom Line Boiling Point's Hope Lives Here is perhaps their most cohesive and passionate record yet. If you watch their YouTube series, you'll experience the message behind the music. Hope Lives Here strikes hard with rock songs and touches the heart softly with their melodies to inject hope into the listener's mind.
