Playing a Christianized, prog rock-tinged version of Norwegian black metal, Extol follows up their debut album Burial with the six-song EP Mesmerized. Overall, it's fairly similar, designed more to keep fans from getting impatient for new material (rather than to signal a change of direction for their sophomore full-length). The material features three industrial-style remixes of tracks from Burial, plus a newly recorded song, an outtake from the Burial recording sessions, and the bonus track included on the Japanese issue of Burial. So, it's essentially a package for devoted fans, who will find this a necessary pickup.
