For a new artist, it's the kind of year you dream of.
Christian recording artist, Adam Paul Williams, stayed very busy this year. Besides playing the lead role of Jesus in the internationally-acclaimed outdoor musical The Promise (Glenrose, Texas), Williams logged over 75 concert appearances and even sung with the Gaither Vocal Band. His stirring voice will even be featured in the soon-to-be-released movie, Evil Behind You, by director Jim Carroll.
Williams recently announced a 10-day concert tour of England, May 19-28, in addition to an already-crowded U.S. concert schedule. The British invitation was unexpected according to Williams, coming after a mid-December television appearance on the Daystar television show. "Valerie Taiwo, with Treasures From the Heart ministries out of Lincolnshire, England, called me an asked if I'd be interested in doing a series of British concerts, and of course I jumped at the chance," Williams admits. "The UK is an incredible mission field, and I was really eager to experience ministry there first-hand." Williams acknowledges that London is a long way from his home town of Carthage, Texas, and says he's delighted to to be taking his own unique style of contemporary Christian music, and his personal testimony of faith, around the world.
Despite a full-time schedule as Jesus in the Glenrose, Texas production of The Promise for several months last year, Williams was able to log concert appearances in some of the nation's most well-known congregations, including First Baptist Church of Woodway, Second Baptist Church of Houston, First Baptist Church of McKinney, Texas, Riverbend Church (Austin), Travis Avenue Baptist (Ft. Worth), Lifeword Ministries (Conway, Arkansas), the BMA National Convention, the Southern Baptist of Texas annual convention, and the Global Missions Conference (Columbia South Carolina).
"Whether I'm sharing with church congregations who share my passion for Christ, or for unchurched people who really aren't even sure who Jesus is, I'm just glad to be singing," Williams says, "and I'm praying that God will continue to use me like he has thus far in my ministry."
