David Phelps first came in to the Christian spotlight as a tenor in the Gaither Vocal Band. After this time, it was clear that David was going to go far in the Christian music industry, not just in the southern gospel and quartet singing fields. Since his first self titled album in 2000, he has gone on to release several solo projects, including 2 Christmas records and 2 live projects.
David returned to the Gaither Vocal Band in January 2009, along with Mark Lowry and Michael English, to rejoin members Bill Gaither and Wes Hampton.
David is married to Lori and they have 4 children.

Legacy of Love - David Phelps Live is the first half of an amazing night recorded in Birmingham in front of a sold out audience. This is a CD/DVD set that showcases David's raw talent and vocal power in style.
David covers a number of beautiful hymns, including How Great Thou Art and Just as I am (watch for the amazing note held halfway in...simply stunning), as well as favourites Virtuoso and End of the Beginning. There are some simply beautiful ballads as well (There is a River, God will take care of you) and some touching moments, but watch for David's raw vocal power in Just as I am which is guaranteed to make you listen to it again and again and again!
The DVD contains some extra snippets of David with his family, as well as extra thoughts and of course, the raw and electric energy through the theatre!

As I once heard someone say " If you have never heard David Phelps Live, you have not lived." Fortunately for me, I had the amazing privilege to see David Live in Brisbane Australia in October 2008, but for those who will never get to hear him live, this is definately the next best thing.
This album is truly amazing. This happens to be a favourite in my collection, one that never truly goes out. I have made many new David Phelps fans out of this CD, who were simply stunned by his amazing talent.
The CD is packed full of heatwarming songs and powerful ballads that will make you wanting more - fortunately, there is! Check out "No more night" - the second half of this amazing night.
Finally, if you only pick up one David Phelps' album in your life, make this the one!
