The Other Side Of Something [edit]
by Sara Groves | Genre: AC/Inspo | Release Date: March 23, 2004

The Other Side Of Something delivers something treasured and something new. On Sara's latest, she delivers the thought provoking moments you expect while exposing you to a decidedly more upbeat and bright approach. The musical cornerstone of this album remains Sara's lyrical voice surrounded by an uptempo acoustic/pop alchemy that provides the perfect musical punctuation. Sara reconnects with longtime producer Nate Sabin as well as stretching her musical wings with the addition of award-winning producer Charlie Peacock.

Overall this release was much more upbeat than much of Sara's later releases. Not that I would classify any of Sara's albums as boring or depressing, but this album comes across as definitely being different than the distinctive introspective sound she would develop as her career went on. This album is well done and is very well crafted, performed and produced...just like all of Sara's releases.

Raw Beauty | Posted October 11, 2011
In Sara Groves' CD "The Other Side of Something", the raw beauty of this artist shines.  The CD includes all aspects of life; from the high points down to the low points.  The song "Esther" speaks of a missionary who has a heart for children around the world without the luxuries of life and breaks a person's heart.  The whole album is like an open book to Groves' heart and soul, leaving nothing out of the light.  While this is one of her earlier albums, it is still one of her greatests.
