Anchor Hymns releases "It's Alright," which is based on an old Negro Spiritual of the same name. The original was a simple call and response, reminding each other that life is bigger than this present moment, especially when the present moment is full of anguish and suffering. Dee Wilson, Jasmine Mullen, Matt Maher, and Lucy Grimble looked at those lyrics and expanded the idea into a deep Gospel groove and the story of someone lost and alone being swept up in the arms of Jesus and welcomed into a loving and eternal family. As Dee cries out towards the end of this one-take recording, this is good news "for my family in Texas, for my brothers and sisters in Ukraine, for all of God's children" It's alright, it's alright. Jesus is calling from the other side, and it's alright.
