Aaron Gillespie is a man obsessed. Whether he's out in front of The Almost, his new, eagerly-anticipated rock-based project, or behind the drum kit for the world famous post-hardcore outfit Underoath"who debuted at #2 on the Billboard Album Survey with June 2006's Define The Great Line"the Clearwater, Florida-bred songwriter/musician can't help but throw himself into everything he does. With Southern Weather, The Almost gives Gillespie the opportunity to put a different musical side of himself on display. Performing nearly every instrument on the disc, Gillespie worked with acclaimed, Seattle-based producer Aaron Sprinkle (Emery, Anberlin) on Southern Weather. On the title song, Gillespie incorporates pieces of his youth. "I grew up in the Deep South in a Christian home," he says of the declarative album opener. "I am very much informed by Southern values. Like anyone, I've had struggles along the way. But I'm committed to my faith in Christ. I've had such a strong calling and I think the song speaks to that.

One of the Best Rock Albums of the Year| Posted December 15, 2007
No question about it. A little softer side of underoath comes the band The Almost. Great tunes, riffs, and beat. Aaron Gilipsie is very talented in this album. Every song brings in something different. Great album, really suggest you buy it.
Just Okay| Posted October 13, 2007
I think it's safe to say that the Christian music world has been waiting for this album for a long while now. Aaron Gillespie, drummer and vocalist for Underoath, was the main thing, in my opinion, that pushed Underoath into its popularity so when I heard that he made his own album, I had to get it. My expectations were very high and the album didn't really do anything for me. 'Say This Sooner' was a definite favorite for me and 'Amazing Because It Is' has a great message but vocals seemed a little boring. 'Drive There Now' is a great song and the sound is amazing. This is very good album but definitely not my favorite, you may like it though, and I'm all for that.
Good Debut| Posted September 23, 2007
I thought this was a really good debut for a solo artist, especially since it's a side project for him. I like how Gillepsie made this CD different from underoath's stuff. Amazing Because It Is, is truly amazing, and the best version of the song I've ever heard. Say This Sooner, Stop It, and Dirty and Left Out are also all awesome songs.
The almost is amazing, because they are.| Posted September 22, 2007
All I can say about this album is "wow".
Its brilliant. Aaron's lyrics in this album are very personal and honest. I especially like how open he is about his faith and songs like "Amazing Because it is" and " Dirty and Left Out" are awesome songs about his relationship with Jesus. The almost are truly amazing people!
its good| Posted September 18, 2007

Excellent Solo Debut| Posted September 12, 2007
The acclaimed drummer from the hardcore Underoath team makes a statement with his solo debut. From the solid heavy opening "Say This Sooner", to one of the best variations on Amazing Grace I have ever heard in "Amazing Because It Is", Aaron Gillespie shows his talented versatility. This is one of my favorite albums of 2007.
aaron| Posted August 23, 2007
is anything more really needed to be said he is an amazing singer and they can get you into motion at a show whether you want to or not "Amazing because it is" is my favorite but i like them all
Talent| Posted August 09, 2007
This is Aaron Gillipsies solo album. If any of you don't know who he is, he is the Drummer and singer of underoath. He did this album by himself, and has shown his true talent through this album. I have to say it is one of the best albums I've heard in a while. If you want to see a cool video his song Say the sooner is awesome, you can check it out on youtube. All in all Great album. and tons of talent.
