Aaron Gillespie is a man obsessed. Whether he's out in front of The Almost, his new, eagerly-anticipated rock-based project, or behind the drum kit for the world famous post-hardcore outfit Underoath"who debuted at #2 on the Billboard Album Survey with June 2006's Define The Great Line"the Clearwater, Florida-bred songwriter/musician can't help but throw himself into everything he does. With Southern Weather, The Almost gives Gillespie the opportunity to put a different musical side of himself on display. Performing nearly every instrument on the disc, Gillespie worked with acclaimed, Seattle-based producer Aaron Sprinkle (Emery, Anberlin) on Southern Weather. On the title song, Gillespie incorporates pieces of his youth. "I grew up in the Deep South in a Christian home," he says of the declarative album opener. "I am very much informed by Southern values. Like anyone, I've had struggles along the way. But I'm committed to my faith in Christ. I've had such a strong calling and I think the song speaks to that.

Pretty good| Posted May 11, 2010
The first song I heard on it was Say This Sooner and I loved it. I don’t really sing to any of the songs but it’s just a good album to listen to. It just has certain kind of “drive” to it that keeps me interested in it. I think this is an album worth getting with only like one or two songs that didn’t impress me.
more awesomeness!| Posted January 07, 2010
this is the best album ever! i love "amazing because it is" it is an awesome version of amazing grace. aaron has the best voice ever! he is my favorite singer right now. he is awesome. i love him in both underoath and the almost. but underoath is a lot harder rock than the almost. so check them out if you never heard them because thay are amazing! :)

This album is amazing. I wouldnt say its as good as the new Monster Monster album but is still great. drive there now is the best followed closely by southern weather
Great debut| Posted October 28, 2009
This was a great debut and I liked the title track the best. I think it had some great guitar riffs and a catchy chorus. The CD does rock and the lead singer has a great vocal range to him. I can't wait for their new CD Monster.
The Real Aaron Gillespie| Posted October 20, 2009
At first you wouldn't think of the Almost as a side act from the Underøath drummer, but listening to this album shows the other side of Aaron: another talented and poetic artist that can carry his own. He recorded all the instruments on his own, but afterwards put together a band to represent the Almost as a band. This debut is a very strong album. Each song is complimentary to the next, and Aaron's voice truly shines in songs like Amazing, Because It Is, Southern Weather, and Say This Sooner. I totally recommend this one.
I Like Most Southern Stuff But....| Posted October 09, 2009
I like most southern stuff but this album and this group altogether just doesn't do anything for me. I have nothing personal against the group it's just not my kind of music.
loved it| Posted October 07, 2009
i thought this cd was amazing. not just because arron is amazing, but the music was incredible. my buddy that i let borrow it thought the same thing and i havent seen the cd again :)
The Almost.....Is Awesome!!!| Posted October 03, 2009
The Almost is a fairly new hard rock band, a side project for Aaron Gillespie of Underoath. This band packs a southern punch, while adding heartfelt lyrics. Though quite different from Aaron's other band, Underoath, The Almost still offers a good rhythm, crunching guitars and awesome vocals!
God bless The Almost
Great Cd.| Posted October 01, 2009
Aaron Gillespie is...amazing. For this album he played every single instrument and also vocalized the album. Granted, he doesn't play every instrument when on tour with the almost (that would simply be too much). This cd is full of great songs and The Almost are definitely a band to watch. This cd could leave fans begging Aaron to quit Underoath altogether and work fulltime on the Almost.
