Switchfoot followed up Christmas Day with their third mainstream release (sixth overall), Oh! Gravity. - a distinct stylistic departure from their previous projects. Noticeably edgier and glaringly more unbridled, Oh! Gravity twists and turns through twelve tracks that take the listener on a musical rollercoaster ride from the raucous title track to the ponderous "Yesterdays" to the Brit-pop "Burn Out Bright" and the softer and unpolished "Let Your Love Be Strong."
"i like switchfoot"| Posted December 26, 2007
is the bumper sticker on our car. I did like the title track, "Oh! Gravity.," and the song "awakening". I'm sorry, I just haven't gotten used to the other songs on the album. Don't hate me. I still love listening to Jon's voice; and I love seeing all of your smiling faces. If I remember correctly, 'switchfoot' is a term used in surfing. That is so cool! God bless you guys! We don't just "like switchfoot"; we love em! :)

Call me crazy, but I think that this album is amazing! I love how they kick off the album with 'Oh! Gravity.' 'Awakening' and 'Faust, Midas, and Myself' are amazing songs and, of course, the vocals are great. I love the song '4:12', it's so original and creative and it makes me smile when I listen to it. I didn't really like 'Dirty Second Hands' but it's the only one I don't like, so that's really saying something. So, I think this album is great, but you might not, just give it a shot, you might really like it.
The Foot Should Definitely Switch Back!| Posted October 17, 2007
I was highly disappointed with this album compared to their previous two: The Beautiful Letdown and Nothing Is Sound. Though there were a few god songs on this album such as Oh! Gravity and Awakening. I personally didn't care for the others but you should take a quick listen to someone else's copy before you decide to buy your own. They are planning to come out with a new album sometime in 2008. Hopefully it will be better than this one.

This is actually my first Switchfoot CD. I heard a lot of good stuff about them, so I figured I'd give them a try. It wasn't bad, but not as good as I'd expected. I really liked Oh! Gravity and Awakening, but for most of the songs, i could take them or leave them.
Oh! Goodness| Posted September 17, 2007
Switchfoot experiments with a new sound this time around on Oh! Gravity. When I first listened to this album, I didn't know what to think of it. This outing takes a different approach. Musically, it sounds like they are striving for a slightly less-produced feel. The music sounds more similar to a live show. Lyrically, the themes discussed are quite similar to past albums, speaking for love and against things like materialism. However, Oh! Gravity does have more to say about (and to) God, especially on songs like "Let Your Love Be Strong". Some songs have a more serious feel, but others just make you want to happily sing along. This album is truly unique... in a good way. Despite any misgivings about Switchfoot's "new sound", I urge you to give this disc a spin. Experimentation is generally hit-or-miss, but with Switchfoot it works.

Switchfoot hits it again with their latest release: Oh! Gravity. They get it. This whole world will let you down; we just need to keep it together. Live the best we can...Live each day to the fullest.
Also, they, like Relient K, hade made it in mainstream and they too will play a big role in the near future. In fact, Switchfoot is one of Relient K's biggest influences. This fall, they will be heading out on tour together. This will be one of the history books, not only as a great musical experience, but also for the number of lives they will touch along the way.
