New Medicines [edit]
by Dead Poetic | Genre: Hard Rock/Metal | Release Date: April 06, 2004

It's hard to believe, with ages ranging from their late teens to early 20's, that Dead Poetic could have already acquired such a strong fan base, released a hit album, and toured the US many times over. But it's all true. As a follow up to 2002's "Four Wall Blackmail," the band is anxious to bypass any hint of the dreaded sophomore slump. Instead they have created a straightforward hard rock record destined to place them in the spotlight not just for their youth, but for their phenomenal talent as well.

One of the Best | Posted March 24, 2008
Dead Poetic is one of the most under rated bands. New Medicines is filled with heavy guitars and screams combined with gentler singing to make a very schizophrenic sound.

Crazy | Posted March 08, 2008
This band is crazy hardcore screamo. Much of the singing is done in a deep roaring voice and the lyrics are kind of nuetral so they will appeal to those within the secular realm. However, if you like hardcore metal that doesn't get much radio play then you would like this band.

Like nothing you've heard | Posted October 28, 2007
This is another one of those groups that I was quite happy to bump into while on one of my Christian music searches I do about once every month or two. It was a very hard choice between this and their first album. Vices doesn't strike my fancy nearly as much as the first two. It seems that they keep getting softer... Anyways, New Medicines has a nice mix of hard and soft. Just about every song on the disk stuck with me from the first few listens. I found myself jamming to this compilation for several weeks without paying mind to much else. So long as you can stand a little bit of screaming you'll probably get into these guys.
