Heavy music and pained lyrics go together like cake and ice cream, and Belton, Texas quintet, Flyleaf, aren't about to break with tradition. But while many loud rockers reopen old wounds by singing about their broken homes and broken hearts, Flyleaf confront past traumas to heal old scars and prove in the process that hope shines brighter than despair.
Flyleaf's self-titled debut album echoes with songs about abuse, neglect, addiction and dysfunction, and messages about overcoming adversity. And the band's wide array of brooding beats, atmospheric textures and lunging riffs compliment Mosley's emotionally revealing lyrics, which range from breathy and beautiful to scathing and aggressive.

Amazing First Album| Posted March 09, 2011
Flyleaf's debut was my favorite album for the longest time. After all these years of having it, I still love it. It's refreshing to hear a female fronted band that doesn't fall into the typical Christian cheesy chick rock category. Not only that, but they've gained widespread maintstream attention, not by watering down their message, but because they're just that good. Although the lyrics and music are superb, the best component of Flyleaf has to be the vocals. Lacey Mosley's one of a kind voice ranges from soft, beautiful singing to harsh screaming in seconds. I'd recommend the album as a whole, but if I had to pick highlights, I'd chose I'm So Sick, Breathe Today, All Around Me, and Cassi.
Great songs| Posted November 09, 2009
My favorites are "Fully Alive" Cassie" "There For You" and "All around me". "There For you" was the first song of theirs I heard on the radio and it's a beautiful song about the faithfulness of Jesus.

This is probably one of the best female fronted rock bands in Christian music. ALbum highlights "All Around Me" "Fully Alive" and "I'm So Sick" The girl can sure nuff get it!

Nothing short of Amazing| Posted November 19, 2008
I believe that everything this band produces is simply amazing! Their lyrics are so powerful, and they fit so well with what the youth are going through these days. Flyleaf is an amazing band that I can relate to and so can the teens in my youth group! They all love FLYLEAF!!!

I saw them on some music video program a couple years ago, and HAD to get this album. Lacey has definitly opened up the doors for girls who can sing, AND scream. aside from the great vocals, the lyrics and music are awesome. among my favorites are I'm So Sick, Fully Alive,Cassie, All Around Me, There For You and Breathe Today.
