Not Great | Posted January 30, 2008
Think of what it's like to have 5 kids in the same room hopped up on high dosages of caffeine and sugar. Now give these kids these the ability of gymnastics, singing and a love for Christ and you have Jump5 at its core. Lesley, Libby, Chris, Brandon and Brittany, all under the age of 15, come out jumping, cart-wheeling, flipping and splitting into your ears with high-energy music targeted straight at tweens and no one else. The music is way overproduced, but that's the genre these kids live in. At the same time, the songs are chalk full of hooks and drum loops and it's easy to see how this album will give instant gratification to their target demo. But to give 13 and 12 year old kids the lead vocals when they are obviously hitting that voice changing age is almost torture to the ears. The extra "kid developed" emotion is a little over the top. Sedative anyone? A definite recommendation to anyone under 14, but that's about it.

Love ya too much | Posted July 22, 2009
'Love ya too much' is my favorite song on here. I absolutely love their voices, especially Brittany's. They all had wonderful voices though. I wish they wouldn't have split up.

A bodacious beginning (revised; i couldn't finish it yesterday) | Posted October 01, 2008
How do you know when you're getting old? When a group you've followed since their inception (sort of) disbands. Even though it's only been 5 years, I still feel old. I love the music of Jump5, and I'm 20.

Spinnin' Around: Very poppy. Popsome? Popful? Poppish? (Whatever!) Although I have a slight disdain for songs that brand themselves forever by mentioning the group name in the lyrics, the song itself is a good dance song.

Virtual Reality: Nice SFX. Also a great dance song for a party.
Change A Heart, Change The World: I wanted this to be my Grade 8 grad song, but I didn't ask the music teacher in time.
Meaning of Life: Says what it needs to and I love the message
All I Want: Short and sweet. I developed a liking for this song the more I listened to it. Sounds like a Jump Rope For Heart Song.
Wish That I Could Read Your Mind: Has a summer camp by the lake feel to it. Wishing to be able to see what is in a friend's heart. Don't we all?
Tell Me Why: Another "I-don't-deserve-your-love-but-thank-you" song. Who could ever get tired of that? (I may sound sarcastic, but I'm not)
I Belong To You: Sweet in the chorus, but has a totally different feel in the verses. A little R and B there.
Love Ya Too Much: Slow and quiet. One of at least two songs referring to God as "Ya" (the other one is "Do Ya")
When I Say Your Name: Expresses a common theme of the power of God's name to change your feelings. Interesting repeats of "when I say Your name" by lone female member (not sure which one)
Start Jumpin': Even more like a Jump Rope For Heart Song. Also mentions the group name. Good for dance.

Good times, good times | Posted January 26, 2008
Ah, these were the good old days, when Libby was part of Jump5. I remember listening to "Spinnin' Around" over and over again. And "Change A Heart, Change The World" is an awesome song. This CD is great.

A little juvenile, but still enjoyable! | Posted October 01, 2007
I got this cd when I was a freshman in high school, and I really enjoyed it at the time! There are still a few tracks that I love. Jump5 has so much energy on this cd, it is hard to not get up and move. "Spinnin' Around" is a great opener. "Change a Heart, Change the World" has a great message to it. "The Meaning of Life" is another good track. "Love Ya Too Much" is a good song about asking for forgivness and rekindling a friendship. My absolute favorite song on this cd is "When I Say Your Name". This song just makes happy when I am sad, because I know that there is such power when I say Jesus' name!

Really, "When I Say Your Name" is the only song I really listen to off of this cd, but I do have some other later Jump5 cds that I enjoy a few songs off of. They really do have a great message to their songs. Maybe their sonnd is not for everyone, but great for preteens.

This CD is okay for kids, but I don't think anyone else would really like it. It's kind of annoying.

Ok | Posted August 20, 2007
They're not my favorite group. My sister likes/liked them so I've heard this CD on repeat before. It's ok for those who like a pop sound.
