One of the Best and Most Unrecognized Albums Ever! | Posted May 16, 2010
Seriously, this album is great from start to finish. Every song is amazing and memorable. Every note and lyric has meaning. Why this album didn't make Downhere the next Household Name in Christian music is a mystery to me.

From the opening upbeat riffs of "The More," to the amazing piano driven ballad on how deep God's love for us is, "A Better Way," to the standout "Dying To Know You," to the rocking "Stir" or uplifting "Little is Much," to the thought provoking lyrics of "The Real Jesus" or the worshipful "Remember Me," to the nostalgic feeling "1000 Miles Apart," to the rousing finale "I Miss You Here." All of this tracks and everything else are just plain amazing. Downhere has crafted an amazing album, one of the best of the year when it was released, and in retrospect, one of the best of the entire decade, maybe even of all time.

It may not have been the most legendary in the industry, nor broken any sales records or brought Downhere into prominent status. It may not have gone Gold or led to No. 1 singles, but as you listen to each and every note, you'll wonder why the heck not. It's THAT good and even if the industry as a whole didn't take much notice, that doesn't mean this still isn't one of the best records to come out of the Christian Music industry in a long time.

Downhere is Unbelievable, top 10 of decade! | Posted July 14, 2008
WOW!! Wide-Eyed and Mystified, the 3rd studio album by Canada's Downhere (my favorite band) and 1st with Centricity Records is literally Unbelievable in its greatness. Jars of Clay got me into Christian music and is still the standard for me, however I first saw Downhere in 2001 and I was blown away. Larger Than Life, Great Are You and Protest To Praise from the debut album made Downhere my favorite band, slightly ahead of Jars of Clay. Great for fans of Sanctus Real and Leeland as well.

This album starts rocking with The More, based on 2 Peter 1:5-8 and is an amazing reminder of how to grow in our walk with Jesus. Surrender keeps the Marc Martel/Jason Germain co-lead vocals and amazing harmonizing going. Then, my all-time favorite Downhere song A Better Way brings me to tears as I praise Jesus for His sacrifice. The album continues to amaze with Little Is Much,Stir and The Real Jesus-a stirring depiction of cultural references, which are all among the best songs by this underrated band. You can't go wrong with Downhere.

Surprised! | Posted September 03, 2008
I received a link by e-mail, to get a free download from Downwhere (which I did not know at the time), and did not open the file for a while. When I got back to the file, I realized it was a complete CD!!!! WOW! was I surprised to discover them! They have a wide range of songs. Each of them with a strong message. I don't know why they are not more well known yet!!! I also enjoyed a lot their vocals, as I participate myself in the Praise team at Church. It is a blessing to my ears and my heart! Praise God! I really pray that their message and ministry spreads throughout the U.S.A. and also throughout Canada as they are Canadians... like myself! Wide-Eyed and Mystified is a CD that you don't get tired of listening. Their next album which should be out soon this september: Ending is Beginning, should be as good as this one or even better!!

Well, I have no interest in this Album in the first place, I downloaded it for free! :D

I haven't had the time to sit and listen to them. And when I do have time, most likely I choose to listen to Relient K or any other catchy bands. With that I can't really rate this CD, but I'll give the "Average NRTeam Rating"!

Great Stuff | Posted June 07, 2008
Just because this album is free off Musichristian.com doesn't mean it sucks. The vocals are the highlight of the album matching nicely with the the actual music making a nice feel to all the songs. In fact the lead singers voice reminds me of Kevin Max. There is nothing groundbreaking here, but they are definitely a band making some top notch music in the contemporary Christian and worship music scene.
