12 Stones [edit]
by 12 Stones | Genre: Pop/Rock | Release Date: April 23, 2002

Whereas groups like Staind move in a linear fashion from full-on rockers to ruminative power ballads, the four young men of 12 Stones instead take a page from the book of Nirvana, unabashedly moving back and forth between depth-charge nu-metal and melodic, contemplative moods within the space of a single song. In fact, this is the modus operandi for the lion's share of the songs on the band's self-titled debut album. Judging from the chart placing of 12 Stones it seems that the gambit worked in a big way. And why not? With such songs as "Crash" and "Back Up" those who appreciate the heavy stuff and the mellower mode in equal measure can have their cake and eat it too. Just don't get any of that cake on the band's rug, because judging from the piercing attack of those grinding guitars, they know how to administer the proverbial beatin'.

Pretty good | Posted May 04, 2010
I didn’t used to like this album or this band but they kind of grew on me after listening to it for a while. It’s not my favorite band but I like several songs from this album. Broken is my favorite song off of it. Most of the other songs are pretty cool too. I’d give this album an average rating of 3 and a half stars. I’m not particularly fond of the voice of the lead singer but I still enjoy listening to the songs. When comparing them to other artists, I’d say they sound kinda like 3 Doors Down, and maybe a little bit like Skillet but not near as good. Even so this is an album worth adding to your library.

Debut: Does Not Sound Like Debut | Posted October 22, 2009
"12 Stones" 4 piece "rock" band, has made there debut with "12 Stones."

From the opening track "Crash" I thought I knew what I was in for, (just the typical "Christian" rock album.) But then "Broken" came on and I was surprised!

"Crash" and "Broken" the first 2 songs on the album are taking about fading away from God and then repenting. "The Way I Feel" is his statement of Christian life and wandering of the "Narrow Path" and how he hates it ( sung in the chorus )
'Cause I hate the way I feel tonight
And I know I need you in my life
Yes I hate the way I feel inside
And I promise to make the sacrifice

The closing song on the album "Eric's Song" is about being down and how you should look to Christ through all the turmoil.

This album deserves the 41/2 stars, it gets the 4 1/2 stars.

This does not sound like the typical Debut album they through in the rock effectively and hopefully there other albums are this good!

I Recommend this album to any "Hard Rock" fan out there. "12 Stones" truly rocks out to make an incredible debut!

This band is awesome. They have great music. :)
I love to listen to them because they are different from anyone else. And I love bands that are different because after a while everybody starts to sound the same. :)

This is pretty generic rock not really anything that sets them apart from the crowds. It's still good music just not as good as it could be.

This album is 12 Stone's best. Every one of the songs has an awesome guitar solo somewhere in it. Their guitarist is absolutely awesome when it comes to playing solos. This album is great to rock out to and to play really loud :D.

It's okay | Posted January 22, 2008
I really loved the song "The Way I Feel", and that is the whole reason I bought this cd. There are a few other tracks that are enjoyable like "Crash" and "Open Your Eyes", but those are the only ones I really listen to.

Great album, and a strong debut. I like most of the songs & really like about 6 or 7 of them, with Broken, Back Up, and My Life being my favorites.
