An Underrated Album That Deserves More| Posted August 08, 2007
MWS, or Smitty, has been around forever, or pretty close. However, I wasn't a big fan of his earlier work, it just wasn't my cup of tea. It just seems too old fashioned. Unfortunately after this album he went back to that format. But, after a good 15 years MWS had to change his format, do something different, or at least for part of the album. The result? His best work in my opinion.
The first two songs are MWS's best songs of his career. They're different, they're good, one is peppy, one is somberish. (Is that even a word?) It continues through a good first half of the album, then I would say it get boring again, and becomes just like his old work. So did he just use that because he already had it, and he didn't have anything better? Anyways, they're not as good as the first part, and they feel out of place.
The weird thing is nobody remembers this. Before this review, there was nothing on this website, and there's currently no review on JFH. So what's the deal? People didn't like the experiment. His fans are all over the age of thirty, and they didn't like the change. So it's an underrated album, like most great albums are. But hey, what do you expect when Casting Crowns is worshipped and hailed as the greatest thing since Jesus Christ himself walked the earth. Oooh, dagger. I'll get hate mail for that.

The album is ........................ the ending track is just perfect from looking for a missing person to showing who really cares for us and then finding a friend in the Lord and finally meeting on the other side. Love it. The song for rich is just so touching, as I personally loved Rich Mullins' music as well. We should definitely live the life for the Lord.

This release definitely stands out in it's production values from other releases before it. The music sounds much fuller with more of an emphasis on the bass (which is great). The album is very well composed moving from upbeat to slower more introspective songs seamlessly. I really love this release and it's emphasis on what we are here on earth to do. An amazing collection of music!

i love this album! it's a true inspiration to LIVE THE CHRISTIAN LIFE!!! we need to get out there into the world and "preach the gospel always, if necessary use words" words aren't always necessary, because "actions speak louder than words!"
