Packed with vertical songs of faith like "Come to the Cross," "Be Lifted High" and the Keith Green classic, "Oh Lord, You're Beautiful," the new album from Michael W. Smith is a call to Stand for something bigger than ourselves.

I Still "Stand" with Smitty| Posted March 14, 2008
I still "Stand" with Smitty. Due to the overall quality of his body of work, sometimes people overlook the newer releases by Michael W. Smith, myself included. I've had this album "Stand" for over a year and I was originally drawn to the songs co-written with Leeland Dayton Mooring "Cover Me", "Open Arms" and "Be Lifted High" and those are certainly highlights. Recently I've been very touched by the middle of the album, particularly "How To Say Goodbye" written for Michael's daughter when she left home for college. I'm moved by that song since I have 3 daughters myself. I also really love "Grace", co-written by Martin Smith of Deliriou5?, "Oh Lord You're Beautiful", written by Keith Green and my favorite song on the album is "The Stand" which is a great worship anthem based on Romans 5:1-3 which is one of my favorite passages from The Bible. Find comfort and blessings here: Romans 5:1-3
An Excellent Album| Posted March 04, 2010
Please let me call a trilogy the last three live albums from MWS: "Worship", "Worship Again" and "A New Hallelujah"
They sound like the same, and are very good. I am sure that everyone of us has sang, and still singing, many musics of these CDs at church, driving, cooking, at the bath, and everywhere. They are really good worship music.
Than came Stand. We may be careful to give opinions at a first listening. The songs at first glimpse sound too much different, a kind of too much pop. But, after a few times we listen to the album, we can pick a lot of favorites and the musics will be part of our lives.

I really didn't care for this release overall as much as "Healing Rain". Michael's voice sounds a little strained and thin at points to me which detracted from my overall enjoyment of listening to the album, and I didn't much care for the arrangements on some of the tracks. There are some awesome messages in the songs presented here though and applaud Michael's heartfelt and expressed love for Christ and desire to proclaim His truth. Hopefully this will be a release that might grow on me more in time. One track I do really like from this release is "Be Lifted High"

Smitty....thank you| Posted May 29, 2009
Stand is just another great CD put out by the one and only "Smitty". I love his song "Come to the Cross" it really tugged on my heart everytime I hear that song. It makes me so happy to know that we have such a loving and kind god that where ever we are we can always come back to the cross and he will forgive us.
great job!| Posted September 09, 2008
He never fails to keep coming up with great music!
Michael W Smith has always been one of my favoite inspirational worship artists! He is wonderful and his music is powerful. Keep it up! God bless you!
Great worship album| Posted July 12, 2007 Stand is a great album. I was largely disappointed with Smith's previous album, Healing Rain, as it had few songs that I really enjoyed. Stand, however, contains songs that musically I find enjoyable and the lyrics are powerful and worshipful.
My favorite song on the album is the title track, "The Stand." Other songs that I like are "Open Arms," "Come See," and "Escape Your Love."
Even though the genre of this album isn't what I normally listen to, I am glad have heard (and will continue to hear) Michael W. Smith's Stand.
