A superb closing effort.| Posted October 07, 2008
In my opinion, this rivals "Our Newest Album Ever!" for the title of FIF's best studio album.
The band shows the maturity they have acquired in this last offering, and there is a theme of ending throughout the album. (Evident in tracks like "See The Flames Begin To Crawl", "It Was Beautiful", "So Far, So Bad", and "That's How The Story Ends." The theme is continued in track titles like "Farewell To Arms", and "Anchors Away.")
One thing I enjoyed about this album was the diverse array of styles, from the "White-Boy Reggae" (As Reese Roper puts it) of "See The Flames Begin To Crawl" to the "false metal" of "American Kryptonite."
All in all, FIF's last studio album does not disappoint. (Also, be sure to check out the awesome video for "Wizard Needs Food, Badly.")
