There seems to be a veritable plethora of 'Old Favourites' albums being released by the old timers of CCM lately, which is good news for people like myself who have discovered the counter-culture world of contemporary Christian music in relatively recent years. Such albums not only serve as good introductions to some of the more established artists but also give me the chance to catch up on what I've already missed. This collection of 22 of Don's most popular songs is among the best I've heard and certainly shows him at his creative best -singer/songwriter/musician. A tough one to pigeon hole as regards style, the album is a fair mix of pop, country, roots and even rock and roll. Each song either retells a biblical story or makes a clear scriptural point - the lyrics, sometimes humorous, sometimes serious, always hit the spot and the melodies are the sort that go round and round your head long after you've finished listening. A useful addition to the collection of any budding CCM aficionado.
