The second independent release by Ashes Remain, released on March 13, 2007. The songs Pain, Via Dolorosa, After All This, Broken Pieces, and Cry Out are all re-recorded tracks from the band's debut studio effort Lose the Alibis. While these versions have little to no lyrical changes, they are much heavier than their Lose the Alibis counterparts. For example, vocalist Josh Smith sings the chorus for Broken Pieces on a higher pitch and adds a scream. A strange thing to note is that while often listed as a separate track on most discography sites, Via Dolorosa, a 30 second piano piece that fades into After All This, is not listed on the back of the CD case. The same applies for Lose the Alibis.
The following message from the band is written on the back of the CD booklet:
"When we decided to record our sophomore album, we wanted to carry a higher purpose. Our mission was to give you more than music. We want to give you a hope and truth. These songs are fueled by our faith, but they are still only songs. They can lift you up and encourage you. They may even inspire you. But what you need more than a melody, is true freedom. That freedom is found in the person on Jesus Christ. The Bible says, 'For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus out Lord.' (Romans 6:23). When we leave this life behind, all that will matter is what we did with it. Did we serve only ourselves? Or did we surrender our lives to the service of the One who holds Eternity in His hands? We just hope that while you listen to this CD, you will pause and think about your 'Last Day Breathing.'
- Josh and the AR crew"
