Speechless is the ninth studio album by the Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman. It was released on June 15, 1999, by Sparrow Records.
It was certified platinum by the RIAA on November 27, 2000. Chapman received the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album and Dove Awards for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year (for "Dive").
The album provided more No. 1 chart singles (seven) on Christian contemporary radio than any of Chapman's other albums: "The Change", "Fingerprints of God", "The Invitation", "Great Expectations", "Be Still And Know", "Dive" and the title song "Speechless". The album is considered one of Chapman's greater works by many, and is recognized by many as being one of the best Christian albums of all time.
The concert tour in support of Speechless featured Chapman's longtime friend and co-writer Geoff Moore.
Powerful and convicting, Steve's eloquent performance of "Dive", "The Change", and other songs will leave you speechless as you contemplate God's transforming love!

A Must For Any SCC Fan| Posted January 29, 2008
SCC has always been a favorite no matter what he is doing, usually writing songs, with both his family and his fans. After taking a three year absence from writing, he finally returned with the "Speechless", and it was worth the wait. Delivering new sides of his music that we had never heard before, Steven and his first time recording "touring band" created songs that are so rockin', it's hard to classify Steven as a contemporary artist. You will fall in love with this album from Christian Music's most popular artist. This family man is one heck of a songwriter, and once again, he leaves an album making us...well, you know.

This is a fanatastic cd. I mean it's really great. You have one song after another that you could be content to listen to over and over again for a while. Steven did a really good job on this one!
Favorite Song: Definately "Dive". The sound, the words, oh what a perfect song! this song puts that "leap of faith" into perspective unlike any other artist I know of. Wow.

Dive In| Posted October 28, 2008
This is alot better than most of SCC albums. It contains a mix of rock/pop songs and some slower heartfelt songs. Contains the radio hits "Dive" and "Fingerprints of God." A nice intro to some of his newer music. Overall a good album that really shows who SCC really is.

Good album, the funnest songs are Dive, The change, next five minutes, and whatever. The journey track, I am not fully sure of it's use, but its still fun, and faith-increasing
pretty good cd| Posted August 21, 2007
Pretty good cd in general. I enjoyed "Dive". I don't listen to it much anymore, except for the beautiful instrumental "The Journey".
Really good CD| Posted July 25, 2007
One of my favorite of his CDs. Has several songs I really enjoy. One of my favorites is "Fingerprints of God" because it really speaks to me.
