Whatever You're Doing (Something Heavenly) - Sanctus Real
Better Than Wow Has Been, But That's Not Saying Much| Posted September 27, 2009
I must admit, this collection is slightly better than Wow has been. It's nice to see that some newer songs made the cut.(Since these are supposed to be the hits for 2010, you'd think the whole album would be like that) But that doesn't make the project any better for all the overplayed songs that it does have or the my songs it left out.
It's also nice to see Sanctus Real back on the list, although this song should've been on last year's wow, and their new song Forgiven should've been on this year's.
It's also nice to see Fireflight and Red songs featured on this release, giving some much needed rock edge to the myriad of dull AC songs that populate most of the disc.
Ultimately, if you want a collection of highlights of what you've been hearing on AC/CHR radio for the past year, this is probably for you. If you waited to buy most of these songs in expectation of them being on WOW, you're in luck. And if you wanna get some new songs while their still fresh, WOW is finally a good choice for that.
But, if you're looking for a satisfying compilation to introduce you to newer bands, or feature bands that don't receive their fair share of airplay, or even not be saturated mostly with songs that spend way too much time in the Top 10, then you'll likely not want to look here.
Doesn't disappoint| Posted October 19, 2009
I have all the WOW CD's.This one doesn't disappoint. It's like a nonrepetitive radio with no commercials that always comes in clear. I want to get 2011, too!
Doesn't look like anything special| Posted September 27, 2009
This looks like the least interesting WOW collection of the last several years. I've already purchased the few songs on there I like, and if there's anything further on that I'd want, at this point, it would be cheaper to buy the individual songs on ITunes than the entire CD.
Just.... No| Posted September 26, 2009
Popular Christian music has just gotten uninteresting and generic these past few years and WOW just picks a ton of AC hits that spent forever at #1. At least Britt Nicole is on here... other than that it's not that great.
Will be a hit!| Posted September 23, 2009
Can't wait! Love the series, it has most of the songs I absolutely love!!
It's a great collection of the songs that has made noise in Christian music this year, and of course, songs that we don't want to forget because of what they brought us.
Great mix, Nothing new to offer| Posted July 18, 2009
Similar to my review on the x series. It is a great collection of some top notch songs of the year. The main problem I have with the series is by the time it comes out I usually have all the songs I like. Might as well create my own collection...don't want to buy songs I already own. Plus many songs have been overkilled by the radio once it is out. Also like more rock based songs and this usually features more contemporary artists.
It would be sweet if they featured upcoming songs from artist not currently out or just coming out before it is released. tfk, skillet, mark schultz, needtobreathe, leeland, betahny dillon, pillar, david crowder band, hawk nelson, barlowgirl, switchfoot, to name a few.
Also think it would be sweet if they offered a cd rom or something that would take you behind the scenes with all the artists with interviews sneek peeks, videos, etc... Haven't seen a playlist for 2010 yet but sure it is no different than all the other wow's they released in the past. If they do feature some new stuff then might change the rating. Great Collection of songs/artist but usually nothing new to offer. Also I like the fact it is cheaper to buy now. Use to be over $20 2009 was around $15 quite a price change...and not bad if you don't have the songs.
