Successful CCM recording artist Ashley Cleveland turns to bedrock black gospel on GOD DON'T NEVER CHANGE, recording classic blues and gospel tracks from the originators of the form, such as Blind Willie Johnson and the fascinatingly strange Washington Phillips, whose rueful "Denomination Blues" is as true today as it was in the late 1920s when he recorded it. Cleveland's pop-oriented fan base may well have never heard this kind of gospel before, but it'll be good for them.
