Joy is On Her Way to Superstardom| Posted September 28, 2009
Joy Williams has returned to music with a vengeance, releasing a brand new EP in January, and having her songs appear on Grey’s Anatomy, 90210 and Drop Dead Diva. Now she has released two brand new EPs, this one being titled Songs From That.
The EP starts out with the mid-tempo “You’re My Favorite” which features whimsical music and almost fairy-tale like vocals. “The Look of Love”, a duet with Tim Myers, is a beautiful, easy-going track that reminds me of Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat’s song “Lucky”.
“Doesn’t Get Better Than This” is my least favorite song from the EP. It’s by no means bad, but it’s a little forgettable. “Up Means Down” makes up for the last song with it’s unforgettable quirky tone and magical vocals. The EP ends with “Speaking A Dead Language”, a touching ballad that showcases Joy’s fantastic voice.
Overall, while Songs From That may not be quite as good as Songs From This, it still shines like a bright star and is definitely one of Joy’s best.

This is one of those EPs that could end up on every Grey's Anatomy...Target commericial...etc. Experimental Pop- at it's classiest. Alittle stranger than Songs from This- but it's still fun.
