Resident Apostasy [edit]
by Rehumanize | Genre: Hard Rock/Metal | Release Date: March 16, 2009

Phil Diez (SorrowStorm, Encryptor) and Broc Toney (Eternal Mystery) team up again to unleash a new full length full pounding, political grindcore. Resident Apostasy delivers twenty-seven tracks of guttural grind for the masses.
The opening sample of “Your Best Death Now” leaves no doubt as to where the band‟s going with this release, a preacher‟s voice says “Today I want you to put your seat belt on, because you know this is not going to be a feel-good message.” The band jumps right into it and brings a well-produced, chaotic, brutal attack. While many of the grind and death metal albums I‟ve reviewed have a distinct lo-fi, basement production, this isn‟t one of them. After the band is done blasting, the track ends with another sample, a preacher saying “Christ, and Christ alone.”
Rehumanize focus their rage against some pretty heavy targets. Their biggest one on this album seems to be American Televangelists with tracks such as “Your Best Death Now”, “Rick Warning”, “Joyce Liar”, “The Lakeland Delusion” and “Supersized Megachurch”. Rehumanize may be a Christian band, but their vision of Christianity has no room for those who promise miracles and riches for a small donation. Their venom is further sealed in through the use of samples from preachers, speakers and others. They also take shots at popular culture with tracks such as “Psychopharmacologist” which spews out at the pharmaceutical industry, “Body Image Genocide” which takes a shot at popular images of beauty and “Conformed”, which speaks for itself. But outside of their rage, there is also hope with tracks such as “In Paradise” and the closing number “Repent and Believe”. For all their anger and their brutal sound, Rehumanize still has hope for a better world.
The production on this album is top-notch, with the drums, guitars, bass and vocals all coming together for a well-defined sound that doesn‟t sound mushy at all. The slick production also adds to the chaotic sound since you can hear everything clearly.
This album is an excellent slab of death influenced grindcore and it may end up being one of the best releases from the Christian metal underground this year. I highly recommend this record for anyone who likes their grindcore hard, heavy and loud as possible.

Underground Violence (April 2009)
-Review by Walter Beck

Back page of liner notes reads:
"Rehumanize is dedicated to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God is just, righteous, and holy, and we are not. God hates sin and must come against it full force. God commands all men everywhere to repent of all sins. The self-serving lifestyle you have lived is not pleasing to God even though Jesus loves you. Therefore, since you have sinned against Him, you deserve eternal damnation. In order to be saved, you must repent and believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord, and that he is risen and lives exalted forever. God has set a day in which he will Judge the world in perfect righteousness. Only those who are saved will be spared from the wrath to come. The law and the prophet of God testify to this in the Bible, the inspired revelation of God to mankind. The Christian life is one of peace, victory, freedom, sanctification, and sonship that leads to eternal life."
