Still Missing Miss Knapp| Posted January 30, 2008
Jennifer Knapp hits another homerun on her third album, The Way I Am, which Jennifer co-produced with Tony Macanay (Madonna, Tracy Chapman). It features a hall of fame cast of musicians (including the London Symphony Orchestra) who have lent their talents to the likes of Sting, Michael Jackson and Elton John. Unlike her past albums, Jennifer does not rock out as much on her third outing, moving aside for more introspective, quieter music. The album is different lyrically as well as Jennifer no longer wallows in doubt, erroneous contentment or fear. She's not afraid to have answers, and that sets her apart from so many artists. This album is very much full of peace and tenderness and how God looks at us. The Way I Am offers intensity and depth to showcase Jennifer's development and growth as one of the premier singer-songwriters in Christian music. Highlights include "Say Won't You Say," "Sing Mary Sing," and "Charity."
One of my top 5 albums| Posted August 07, 2009
I loved this lady. I still do- This CD is stellar from start to finish- it's rare to find an artists that interest you from start to finish- Toby Mac appears on the spoken word portion of "Hold Me (Light of the World)" which is just brilliant. "No Regrets" is beautiful. Stunning actually. and "Fall Down" is just a song that should be the best CCM song ever

This is one of my favorite albums because it has so much meaning. There's a fight between happiness and sorrow in this album and it helps you through different moods.
My personal favorites are "Come To Me" and "The Way I Am". The lyrics are amazing and the lesser rocker style makes it look like she has a little softer side to her music. "Light Of The World" is the sofest song in the world. She did a great job adding Toby McKeehan to the album. "Charity" is a great love song. "In Two (The Lament)" is a sorrowful song but is just as same "Light Of The World". "Breathe On Me" makes the flame engulf you. "By and By" takes what's going on and makes you forget it. "Fall Down" I don't really get but it still is a great song to the album. "Sing Mary Sing" is an amazing Christmas song, focusing on Mary's story instead Jesus'. "Around Me" isn't one of my favorites because of the way it's laid out but it asks questions. She certainly has questions for God. "Say Won't You Say" is another love song maybe from God's perspective. "Come To Me", the most beautiful song in the world. On the love songs Jennifer Knapp sings beautifully and makes it dance in your mind. "No Regrets", the ending song. The ending song that ends the album peacefully and soothes you. The violin's are a nice touch and they know how to calm your spirit.
Jennifer Knapp is a wonderful songwritter and knows how to make her lyrics move and come alive.

Taking a Knapp| Posted August 23, 2007
Jennifer really hit the music scene running and gained a large following pretty quickly. But just after a few albums, has now all but disappeared. Her record label has released a Live album (from an old concert) and a Best Of album just to keep her face and name out there.
This album has some really good tracks and some that just didn't do anything for me. Jennifer has a great voice for doing the style of music she does, but, I'm only leaving about half the CD on my iPod... mostly the second half.
