Columbia, South Carolina's Sent By Ravens is a band that knows how to work hard. The formation of the band even took a lot of hard work, with two of the members moving to the East Coast from Hawaii to make their dreams become a reality. Sent By Ravens are gearing up to release their debut album "Our Graceful Words" on Tooth and Nail Records. Eleven beautifully crafted songs recorded by Aaron Sprinkle (Anberlin, The Almost) and mixed by JR McNeely (Underoath, Relient K), "Our Graceful Words" will be released on April 20, 2010 everywhere.

I found this band when I was just cruising the internet one day and happened to be on the Tooth and Nail website. Their play list featured a song by this band and I loved it. i just had to hear more. I found their myspace page, listened to those songs, and loved them as well. I couldn't wait to listen to their upcoming debut. Well it's here and it is every bit as good as the songs I listened to on myspace. Sent By Ravens seems to me to be a mix of alternative rock and metal. There are some really metal worthy riffs found in this album. (And screaming as well, but not so much that it will disinterest the casual listener.) The only complaint I have with the album is that, aside from the first song, none of the other songs are all that memorable. The songs are structured really well, but they are just not that memorable. Aside from that, I would still listen to these guys and I will definitely be waiting for the next one.

This is probably one of Tooth & Nail's most memorable album of 2010. It's full of that Emery-like sound of voices and screams, as well as the music. Lyrically, they've amped up a couple of knotches, belting out the best of the best. The stand out tracks include "This Awakening," "Salt And The Light," "True Bride," and "Trailers Vs. Tornadoes" (which is sooo much better than the original). I'm even glad that my dad has it on his iPod. Please pick this up, because it is AHMAYZING!
Very Graceful Words! Awesome!| Posted April 22, 2010
While many borderline hardcore bands come out with music that sounds the same and kind of blurs, Sent By Ravens bends the rules with their new EP, Our Graceful Words. With cranked tunes that borderline genres such as punk, hardcore, and hard rock, these guys know how to get melodic with a lot of raspy, intense vocals as well as chugging guitars. The only part not quite liked about this is it felt a little too much like a repeat of their last EP. But overall, a well-rocked EP with incredibly graceful words!
Amazing Album Period!| Posted April 20, 2010

On their EP they had some amazing songs, Yet again they made more amazing songs. Beautiful List, New Fire, Trailers Vs. Tornadoes and this awakening are some pretty rad tracks.
