This five-piece band from Elizabethton, TN, released their debut album, A Chorus Of Obliteration, in November 2004 to widespread acclaim and a touring schedule that has rarely slowed. Temptation Come My Way is a classic metal album in the vein of Metallica's Black Album. Brutal, crunching riffs and epic guitar solos combine with enormous hooks and solid melodies to create a song cycle that appeals to "scene" based metal fans as well as commercial rock radio fans. The band continues its pattern of arresting lyrical imagery with commentary on the human condition in all its struggles, addressing victory and defeat with the same honesty and unedited verve.

Great Metal Album| Posted January 28, 2008
The Showdown are the best metal band in my collection. These songs are so awesome that you need an awesome meter just to listen to this. (awesome meter is a figment of the reveiwer's imagination.)
its ok, but its no Chorus of Obliteration| Posted September 09, 2007
This CD is definitly a step in the wrong direction for the showdown. The songs are not as heavy and resembles the metal of the 70s and 80's, the kind of thing that you would expect to hear at a NASCAR race. The CD is ok but if your looking new to the showdown buy Chorus... instead
