As a long-time fan of Christian worship music, crediting the biblical messages behind the songs in Christian music for leading me to Christ, I have been immensely blessed by the contributions of female worship leaders. In the past several years, there have been some incredibly stellar offerings of worship led by their voices. In conjunction with the recent worship releases There is More by Hillsong Worship, Blackout by Steffany Gretzinger, The Garden by Kari Jobe, Boundless by Kerrie Roberts, Where His Light Was by Kristene DiMarco, Starlight by Bethel Music and On My Side (Live) by Kim Walker-Smith, it got me thinking of my top 10 favorite female worship leaders.

If you haven't checked them out, I highly recommend listening to the projects listed below from these anointed female worship leaders. Do you have any other favorites that I missed?

Here are my Top 10 Favorite Female Worship Leaders.

Brooke Fraser
The writer and singer of Hillsong United's "Hosanna," "Lead Me to the Cross," "Desert Song" and "Soon" recently returned to Hillsong Worship on Let There Be Light with "What a Beautiful Name" and There is More with "Who You Say I Am." After several solo projects more in the mainstream vein, these songs have returned Brooke to the top of my list of my favorite female worship leaders.

Taya Smith
With a resume that includes songs from all three major branches of Hillsong's music ministry, including "Oceans," "Touch The Sky," "Say the Word," "Even When it Hurts," "Broken Vessels (Amazing Grace)," "Grace to Grace," "So Will I (100 Billion X)" and "Wake," Taya Smith is one of the top female worship leaders of our time.

Lauren Daigle
Lauren displayed the strongest vocals I've heard in years on her debut How Can it Be with the standout worship songs "How Can it Be," "O Lord," "First," "Trust in You." and "Come Alive (Dry Bones)." That voice has only continued to grow in strength on stages across America, with audiences holding their breath to hear what she'll deliver on her sophomore release.

Kristene DiMarco
From "Break Every Chain" to "It is Well" and "I Will Follow You," Bethel Music's Kristene DiMarco has consistently impressed me with her mature faith and sincere desire to serve Jesus. The theme of Jesus being found in the waiting and reigning as the King of our hearts weaves its way through many of the compelling songs on her solo effort Where His Light Was

Steffany Gretzinger
Following up her stellar worship offering Undone, Bethel Music's Steffany Gretzinger returned with Blackout, which features "Save Me" and "Blackout." On last year's Starlight by Bethel Music, you can hear Steffany singing on "King of My Heart" and "Extravagant."

Jenn Johnson
Jenn is one of the founding worship leaders of Bethel Music from Redding, California, who has brought worshipers everywhere into God's presence with her songs "A Little Longer," "Chasing You," "Come to Me," "In Over My Head," "Heaven Come" and "God I Look to You." She also leads the standout songs "You're Gonna Be Ok," "Mention of Your Name" and "Gravity" from her newest release After All These Years with her husband Brian Johnson.

Kim Walker-Smith
Kim Walker-Smith's anointed songs are great to pray along with to express allegiance to Jesus, with longings to know Him and be in His presence. I really love how expressive her songs are, whether solo or with Jesus Culture, especially "Never Gonna Stop Singing," "Alive in You," "In the River," "Love Has a Name," "Fresh Outpouring" and "Throne Room."

Kari Jobe
Kari Jobe's contributions with Gateway Church, Bethel Music ("Forever"), her Grammy nominated Majestic (2014) featuring "I Am Not Alone" and last year's release The Garden keeps taking her music ministry up a notch with each release. Hear more from her about her perspective on worship in this recent exclusive NRT interview.

Amanda Cook
Amanda Cook is one of the core elements of the Bethel Music sound. You can hear Amanda's anointed, emotive and prophetic worship in Bethel Music's "I Will Exalt" from Be Lifted High, "You Make Me Brave" and "Shepherd" from You Make Me Brave, "You Don't Miss a Thing" from We Will Not Be Shaken, "Pieces" from solo album Brave New World, "Mercy" from Have it All and "Starlight" and "Extravagant" from Starlight

Kerrie Roberts
Kerrie has pure and strong vocals that remind me of Brooke Fraser and Audrey Assad, and her albums have always included worshipful songs like "Savior to Me (Sing Glory)," "In Your Sight" and "My Heart's Lifted." Her new album Boundless is an album about the boundless nature of God's love and how He desires to make His home in each of us as followers of Jesus.
