It's the start of a brand new year, which means the start of brand new music! 2020 already looks like a promising year for Christian music, with awesome new music coming out from some of our favorite bands and artists. Here's a look at some of the new tunes that will soon be reaching our ears!
The Church Will Sing - The Church Will Sing Vol. 1 (1/3)
The Church Will Sing is a fairly new band that have been releasing singles from their new self titled album since spring of 2019. Tracks on their self titled album include songs like "Nothing but the Blood," "Even Louder (Spontaneous)," and more. The best part is that you don't have to wait for this album to come out! It just released on January 3rd, so it's available now!
Planetshakers - Glory Part 1 EP (1/10)
Planetshakers sure has been busy! They've been coming out with new EP's, and new albums every few months. They just came out with a Christmas album at the end of November, and they're releasing another EP on January 10th. You can pre-order this 4 song EP now, which include tracks "How I Praise," "Overwhelmed," and more.
Matt Maher - Alive & Breathing Vol. 4 (1/17)
Matt Maher is an incredibly talented artist, that many have come to love. He's been releasing short 3-song EP's lately, and will be releasing another one on February 21st! While he was out on The Roadshow last year, he recorded some songs live, and have been releasing the songs under the Alive & Breathing collection. He recorded songs that he co-wrote with other artists like "White Flag," and "Soul On Fire," along with some of his classic songs like "Your Love Defends Me," and "Because He Lives (Amen)."
Tauren Wells - Citizen of Heaven (1/24)
Okay... I'm really excited about this one. Let's be honest, who isn't excited about new Tauren Wells music? Tauren's songs are always extremely impactful. This will be Tauren's first time releasing a new album since his 2017 release Hills and Valleys. Featured on Citizen of Heaven are artists like Rascal Flatts, Jenn Johnson, and more. If you pre-order Tauren's new album, you'll instantly get four songs, "Like You Love Me," "Close (feat. Steven Furtick)," "Perfect Peace," and "Miracle."
The album title is based on Philippians 3:20 which says, "But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior."
We Are Messengers - Power (1/31)
We Are Messengers quickly became a celebrated band after releasing their song "Maybe It's Ok" in 2018. The music video has over has over three million views on YouTube, and is definitely fan favorite! On January 31st the band will be releasing their second full length album called Power. The title track already made it's way to radio, so I have an idea that fans are going to absolutely fall in love with this new album. Matt Redman - Let There Be Wonder (1/31)
Matt Redman released his first album 27 years ago, and is still releasing albums today. His 14th studio album Let There Be Wonder comes out on January 31st! Matt recently signed to Integrity, and will be releasing this album under their label. Ahead of releasing this album, Matt came out with a brand new song called "The Same Jesus" which is available now.
Matthew West - Brand New (2/14)
Matthew West has been releasing a lot of singles lately, and will be dropping a brand new album called Brand New (see what I did there?) on Valentines Day, February 14th. Although Matthew recently came out with a compilation album a few months ago, he hasn't released a new album since 2017. Fans have been long awaiting new music from Matthew West and they'll be getting it in a few short weeks! If you pre-order Brand New, you'll instantly get "Brand New," "What If," "The God Who Stays," and "Truth Be Told."
Avalon - Called (2/14)
After a nearly eleven year break, Avalon is back and will be releasing a new album that's titled Called on February 14th. Avalon released their first album in 1996, so it's amazing to see that they've returned! Janna Long and Jody McBrayer are two of the original band members that have come back together for this new album. The two were joined by Greg Long who became a member of Avalon in 2003, and Dani Rocca who joined the band in 2018. If you pre-order the album now, you'll get Avalon's singles "Keeper of My Heart," "Closer," and "If Not for Jesus."
Vertical Worship - Grace Is On Our Side (2/21)
Vertical Worship is part of Harvest Bible Chapel located in Illinois. The band came out with their first album in 2012, but recently became popular with the release of their song "Yes I Will." On February 21st they'll be releasing a new album called Grace Is On Our Side!
Elle Limebear - Lost In Wonder (2/28)
Elle Limebear released her debut self titled EP last year, and on February 28th she'll be releasing some brand new music! She and her dad Martin Smith (the former lead singer of Delirious?) recently came out with a new version of Martin's song "Lord You Have My Heart." Martin's song originally came out 26 years ago, so it's fun to hear a new take on the song! Elle's music is inspiring, and I'm sure her music will be listened to for years to come.
Grace Chaves is a fan of all things Christian music, and is one of NRT's youngest writers. She's homeschooled, and loves concerts, Jesus, and songwriting.
